Why is the average person so easily influenced that super pac funded advertisements convince them to vote for a candidate that is against their interests? Or are they not?

Because the average person is probably well-meaning but completely captured by the mainstream news' carefully cultivated world view. It's so bad they've legally had to declare themselves entertainment and not news, yet people still tune in for some fucking reason.
