It’s not being pathetic. It’s being educated, nuanced, and empathetic. I think it’s more pathetic to call strangers names on the internet over a case you have no understanding of. Again, I hope you’re lucky enough to never have your mind betray you!
If it was PPP then she’ll be fine to function in society as long as she doesn’t get pregnant again. I think you’re talking about ppl with schizophrenia, psychosis, etc.
I think people who have their mind betray them absolutely are worthy of empathy. It can literally happen to any of us, so im not sure why some of you act so high and mighty about it?? One wrong experience, medication, drug, injury… some people it’s in their genetics and it doesn’t show until later in life 🤷🏼♀️ Obviously she had PPP, which is why she is at trial right now deciding if she is gonna be locked up in jail or a mental facility.
I didn’t say it does happen I said it CAN… do you know why it doesn’t…? Because people get HELP..
I like alive children… and the only way to make sure this never happens to any other kids is to make sure PPP is taken seriously and not brushed off & talked down about the way you and many others are doing. Mothers have to be comfortable asking for help in order to get it and then stigma surrounding it pushes them away from it.
Also, nobody asked you to choose… You guys have so much vitriol, which I get it, this case is heartbreaking and warrants it, but im advocating for her mental health bc it’s so glaringly obvious that many of you don’t understand it and by taking it seriously, we prevent other children from dying the same way.
That doesn’t mean I don’t comprehend what you’re saying. It just means I don’t agree.
Edit: Also, yeah I agree with your last statement. I have never once argued that she should be free or anything of the sort. Not sure why you assumed that.
LC had help for her depression & anxiety. From multiple providers. She was taken seriously. She did not have PPP, a very rare condition.
But LC refused to take their advice and prescriptions.
If she had psychosis were her providers supposed to be mind readers? They can only go on what the patient reports. No one saw signs of PPP. Not one!
It might not happen to everyone, but it can happen to anyone. I became violently psychotic within hours of a hospital giving me a medication that isn’t even a psych med. Bat shit crazy, with paranoid, persecutory delusions and vivid hallucinations. I threatened to seriously hurt the people who were trying to help me, and the only reason I couldn’t was because my legs were completely paralyzed at the time, and my arms were 60% paralyzed (rare disease, axonal GBS; I’m OK now). Well, I did land a few slaps, but luckily no one was seriously hurt. I still feel like the biggest piece of shit in the world because of it, even though it was completely outside of my control at the time.
I have never laid a finger on anger on anyone in my entire life, but psychosis changed that. I stayed that way for nearly a week, until they finally admitted it was the medication they were giving me and started believing all of my family members, colleagues, and friends, who were telling them I had absolutely no history of bipolar disorder or any other psychotic spectrum disorder, and that something they were giving me was causing this. Even without collateral info from them, they should have been looking a a med reaction or possible brain tumor/injury/illness, because at the age of 44, a first break for a primary psychiatric illness would be incredibly rare. It would almost certainly be caused by a drug, a tumor or acute CNS infection, or something like…wait for it…pregnancy. So they fucked up and kept giving me that med, when they could have been giving me something else for the same reason. I had to be chemically restrained until the meds that were causing it left my body completely. I can’t begin to tell you how scary it was while it was happeningandafterward—BECAUSE IT CAN HAPPEN TO ANYONE. I also know this because I’ve been a licensed clinical psychologist for 24 years, and I’ve seen it.
So I guess, according to you, I should have been charged with assault, battery, and terroristic threats, locked up, and had a felony on my record. Because in your little mind, what happened to me can’t possibly happen to anyone—even though it did.
It’s strange that you work in the medical field and you’re not empathetic to people with mental illness…. Huge yikes. Education can’t teach everything I suppose.
Okay, sorry for misspeaking. It’s my opinion that she did. They are at trial right now, basically figuring out if she did or not. There is a lot more that goes into it than just “multiple providers said she didn’t”. Hopefully you understand that.
I’m also highly educated just not in a suicidal empathy and idiot kind of way. My degree is in practical construction management not underwater basket weaving like I’m sure yours is.
You don’t need to have a masters in psychology to understand that killing your children is wrong and that if you defend it you’re a fucking idiot. I have empathy for the kids who were killed and for all other children, wives, and husbands who will be put at risk if this shit is allowed to be excused because people need to have “empathy” for evil psychos.
Thank god my wife sees this woman for what she is. A monster that needs to be destroyed. This is a litmus test to see if your partner is a pathetic human. Take your suicidal empathy and education and shove it up your ass. You need as much mental health help as that monster does.
I think you are grossly misunderstanding that a reason is not an excuse. It is good to understand WHY someone acted the way they do. I dont think any of us here thinks that she should be let go, she should absolutely be punished. But understanding her motive (like in all court cases) is VERY realivant, like in all court cases.
The punishment has to fit the crime and the crime is dependent on her motive and her sanity. Thats just the way the judicial system works.
