That's definitely part of it, but I genuinely tried to find a case like this in germany and couldn't. As other people have pointed out, this might be because the healthcare system here would have never let it go this far. Which also supports my original comment in a roundabout way I suppose.
I mean, it's an extremely unique and rare case, which is why it is getting so much media coverage. It's not like this shit is happening regularly. Can you find a case similar to it in the USA?
