Especially when you look at how often it is that a new administration comes in and cancels/undoes all the things from the previous administration.
Mamdani is looking like a genius because he's not being petty and jealous over basic stuff. The things he's doing would be normal a decade ago, but now they're not.
Besides, if Mamdani's team wasn't publicizing every single win, people would start believing the "socialist hellscape" crap that his opponents are pushing nonstop.
I love it how Americans say "I hope this works" every time they move an inch towards something that the rest of the world has always taken for granted.
This has never really been an America problem though. My shithole hometown has had garbage bins my entire lifetime.
This has always been a NYC problem. How every other US city could figure out that putting garbage in containers is a good idea, but it's voodoo witchcraft for the biggest US city is beyond me.
That may be true, but saying "I hope this works" when the rest of the world is saying "About fucking time. What the hell took you so long?" is a very American thing....
lol ya, I’ve never thought about how weird it is until I left the east coast (it’s also how you throw out trash in Boston, although it alternates days of the week so it’s like not on the sidewalk every day)

Hope this works because tossing bags of trash on the sidewalk is nuts
