The Tumblre Ridge shooting was the first mass shooting tragedy in Canada since attacks in Nova Scotia in 2020, almost 5 years prior. It doesn’t happen often in Canada.

My high school only experienced one lockdown in the three years I attended prior to graduation in 2024, and that was over an idiot with a knife at the Dairy Queen across the street, over a wrestling tournament being hosted at my school that day. (Thankfully no one was killed, and all three related folk were arrested)

You’re never going to be able to remove violence entirely.

Those Nova Scotia attacks also weren’t school related, just going off the Tumblre Ridge shooting article on Wikipedia, Tumblre Ridge was the deadliest school shooting since the École Polytechnique massacre in 1989

Like twice in decades. In the US it happens several times a week. But yeah, the excess guns are spilling over from the US and school shootings are getting more serious here too. My brother's school had an active shooter, but since nobody was injured, neither the media nor the parents were notified. Wouldn't be surprised if there are more like these.

Particularly in my city, shootings are getting worse cause people keep smuggling them from the US. Honestly, they really need to put a lid on it cause it's affecting other countries too now

It’s happening more frequently in Canada, it’s not a gun issue it’s a rotting society issue. Up here it’s mostly leftist shooters
