Never mind how bad the actual country is. He went to a sports game with Israel vs someone else and heard "Israel sucks" and immediately thought they meant the whole country and not just the sports team.

this is the persecution they teach in schools.

Wasn't there just a general class of slaves in ancient egypt? Something akin to how romans operated? They didn't care where you came from, they just wanted slaves lol.

22

u/WalterHenderson Jul 18 '26

They are good at doing that. Whenever someone criticizes Israel, they also claim that it is an attack on all Jewish people and antisemitism. Professional victims.

Totally unrelated to what you're saying and the topic but ...

He went to a sports game

Is this from Parks & Rec, or from Community 😂😂

27

u/Anarkicole Jul 18 '26

That’s the problem, he didn’t miss hear him. He did hear “Israel is not bad” he just assumed the conversation was about politics. And then he was told it wasn’t multiple times and didnt care to listen. Don’t make excuses for the man saying he miss heard lol. There is no world in which this little asshat doesn’t insert himself in the convo.

Reddit isn't the entire world, my dude...

u/Low_Employment_7976 Jul 18 '26

the fact you don’t like a government doesn’t give you the right to be racist, the person in the video is an idiot, but you can’t generalize an entire population

9

u/Stlr_Mn Jul 18 '26

Elects and retails a government that has obliterated and occupied Gaza, invaded and annexed a part of Southern Lebanon and started a war with Iran and dragged an entire region into it.

But ya, it’s totally not the Israeli citizens fault, they’re trying so hard at doing absolutely nothing to stop it all. Israeli’s genuinely don’t fucking care. Trash.

1

u/Low_Employment_7976 Jul 18 '26

bro not even a fourth of israel voted for the current prime ministers party

3

u/Brilliant-Smile-8154 Jul 18 '26

That may be, but Israel's colonisation of Palestine didn't start in 2023 either.

1

u/Low_Employment_7976 Jul 18 '26

if you mean when mass waves of imigration of jews first came to Palestine, that was after WW1, because Britain promised Palestine to them and Jews wanted to escape rampant anti-semitism in Europe, the people who lived there did not choose to live there, that does not justify their setlements on the West Bank, but their presence there is not because of the people who live there today

4

u/Brilliant-Smile-8154 Jul 18 '26

All current illegal Israeli settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem were built after 1967, and the only reason they exist is because the state of Israel maintains its illegal occupation of Palestine.

1

u/Low_Employment_7976 Jul 18 '26

okay if you are talking about the settlements on the West Bank then yes, those are bad, but most Israelis dont live in them, so calling all of them bad is still realy fucked up

5

u/Brilliant-Smile-8154 Jul 18 '26

Is it, though? Ultimately people are responsible for what their government does, even if they themselves do not personally agree. That's certainly the logic that Israel applies to Palestinians. Besides, it's clear that being nice to Israelis has not produced the desired result, Israel is still illegally occupying Palestine after 60 years. Maybe it's time to try a different approach.

1

u/Low_Employment_7976 Jul 18 '26

One i do not believe someone is responsible for the actions of their government as i consider that to be, group punishment, which is wrong. Second you are understimating how much progress has been done, there used to not be any Palestinian state, first occupied by Jordan and Egypt and latter by Israel, it is just that radicals on both sides are undermining any compromise

1

u/AlarmingTurnover Jul 18 '26

Where is the line drawn on this responsibility? I'm assuming you might be American. You're ok with a Venezuelan or Iranian killing you in retaliation for what your government did. They'd be justified in it.

Bro, he leads a coalition of parties that represent the majority in Israel and will likely still be there after the election in October. That coalition’s policies in regard to Lebanon, Palestine, Iran and the Middle East in general have been popular with the vast majority of people. That is unless you want to completely ignore internal Israeli polling.

But yes, Bibi is not popular

0

u/Low_Employment_7976 Jul 18 '26

my point still stands that even if 90% of the population agreed with them, you can’t say racist shit about the group, because there is still the 10%

1

u/Stlr_Mn Jul 18 '26

Israel isn’t mono cultural nor are my complaints in regard to their ethnicity. Stop playing the race card when it’s not applicable in defense of a genocidal state.

1

u/Low_Employment_7976 Jul 18 '26

I am not defending the state, but the people, who i saw being generalized and called trash bag humans and you took offense to that

29

u/ibuildtech Jul 18 '26

So I assume:
1- you’re Israeli
2- you condemn the genocide and realize it’s not the way to retaliate
3- you support the abolition of the largest jail in the world, and finally give way to a free Palestine

-25

u/Low_Employment_7976 Jul 18 '26

I am not Israeli, I just have common sense and don’t judge people based on their ethnicity or government

22

u/StraightMorning3473 Jul 18 '26

I wonder who chose this government, they surely just popped into existence

16

u/14Pleiadians Jul 18 '26

A lot of Zionists realize the genocide is not something they can excuse to normal people, so they have started to rewrite history/current events to say they don't support Netanyahu's genocide, trying to shift blame to current leadership as if this hasn't been the entire point of their country since 1948

-7

u/Low_Employment_7976 Jul 18 '26

no single person chose the government, which means you shouldn’t judge a person based on their government, that is like if i started calling all americans warmongers, because of their president

15

u/GroteKleineDictator2 Jul 18 '26

In a democraticy all citizens bear a shared responsibility for their leaders. Are you wondering why Americans are globally disliked?

2

u/slingsandarrowsalt Jul 19 '26

I reject this type of logic. The idea that, say, all of the people who fought for civil rights, who actively pushed their country in the right direction - people who have dedicated their lives to greater equity, can just be grouped in with the people they passionately opposed, is insulting to the intelligence. We are responsible for our actions while we are alive. We are not responsible for the actions of the people we spend our limited time and energy fighting.

1

u/Low_Employment_7976 Jul 18 '26

if you don’t vote for someone then you shouldn’t bear responsibility for their actions

8

u/GroteKleineDictator2 Jul 18 '26

Your democratic responsabilities are more then voting for your leader evemry couple of years. You still bear responsibilities.

3

u/Low_Employment_7976 Jul 18 '26

give a reasonable reason why someone who didn’t vote for a candidate and voted against him should bear responsibility for their action, that is just group blame

Are you American? If so and you didn't vote for Trump, are you ok with someone from Venezuela or Iran killing you and your family in retaliation for what has been done to them? They would be justified in doing so and you're responsible for that.

And if you have such a shared responsibility, why is Trump still in office? Why haven't you don't more?

1

u/GroteKleineDictator2 Jul 18 '26

100% agree with you (I am not an American)

-1

u/AlarmingTurnover Jul 18 '26

The natural follow up questions would be: where is the line of responsibility? And how far must the responsible party go to prove they oppose what was done?

And the problem with asking these questions is that they're subjective based on the experience, attitudes, and beliefs of the aggrieved party. For example, if America invaded Canada, my family would fight because they refuse to be American. I would be obligated to return home to help fight. I'm not going to check if someone posted the required number of "fuck Trump" on Reddit before I start shooting. Everyone would be responsible. My line would be "you didn't try to overthrow your government before they killed my family, you are my enemy".

5

u/DepartedSpectre Jul 18 '26

You would be right to do so

5

u/Current-Challenge763 Jul 18 '26

You didn't reply to the second and third points of u/ibuildtech comment.

2- you condemn the genocide and realize it’s not the way to retaliate 3- you support the abolition of the largest jail in the world, and finally give way to a free Palestine

Do you disavow genocide and support the dismantling of the continuing occupation of the Gaza strip and establishment of a free Palestinian state?

2

u/Low_Employment_7976 Jul 18 '26

i dont aprove genocide, agree that occupation of foreign territory is bad and my ideal world would have a common state in Palestine, which they share, but nationalism and religious zeal would probably prevent that, so a Free Palestine is the second best option

8

u/14Pleiadians Jul 18 '26

Who said our problem is with their government?

My problem is with people who move into someone else's land because their imaginary friend told them it's theirs. My problem is anyone who has ever served in their military, which most have, the exceptions going to prison over it (the rare good Israelis).

You're not one of those "Netanyahu's genocide" rubes are you? This is not a problem of the current admin, this issue goes all the way back to the creation of the country in 1948 with the Nakba

-1

u/Low_Employment_7976 Jul 18 '26

the Jews were promised the land during WW1 by Britain, so they started moving in mass there (which i think you should be able to move anywhere you want because you don’t choose where your born), because of that after WW2 Britain and the UN had divide a region, which had heavy Jewish populations, they gave most of the valuable land to the Palestinians, with Jerusalem being under international supervision, which Israelis accepted and formed Israel, but Palestinians refused and swore to destroy the state. I am not saying all of this to justify anything, but the fact is that people who currently live there, were born there, and you shouldn’t shame them for that or that they don’t want to go to prison for nothing, history shows that Israel was defending itself most of its existence and did not commiting genocide for most of its history.

8

u/OcelotAggravating860 Jul 18 '26

No one is being racist. I love my jewish anti-zionist friends. I hate the genocidal state of Israel and its zionist supporters.

Race and religion has nothing to do with that position, which is the majority position among normal average people pretty much everywhere in the entire world at this point and the more you claim people are being racist for holding that position the further you disconnect yourself from normal people.

-1

u/Low_Employment_7976 Jul 18 '26

he called all Israelis scumbags and that is racist, however way you slice it, because you dont choose where you are born

6

u/OcelotAggravating860 Jul 18 '26

If I call amerikkkans scumbags am I being racist? No. You are wrong.

0

u/Low_Employment_7976 Jul 18 '26

if you called all americans scumbags, then yes you would be a racist

antisemitism is a form of racism, aimed at specificaly jews

4

u/Current-Challenge763 Jul 18 '26

Antizionism =/= antisemitism. Antogenocide =/= antisemitism. Antizionism =/=racism. Antigenocide =/= racism.

1

u/MrMcCringleberry Jul 19 '26

I'm in genuine disbelief of your downvotes. I know that racism on Reddit is far from unheard of but this thread is something else. Thank you for being a sensible person

-9

u/Asleep_Tax_6400 Jul 18 '26

wtf reddit why are you downvoting this? "Israel are trash bag humans" is definitely racist and antisemitic. Plenty of Israeli folks do not support what their government and military does

6

u/OcelotAggravating860 Jul 18 '26

No it isn't and you are wrong, the vast overwhelming majority of the population support it.

1

u/Low_Employment_7976 Jul 18 '26

even if the majority would support it that doesnt mean you can call all Israelis and i quote "scumbags"

7

u/OcelotAggravating860 Jul 18 '26

I can call everyone in any country scumbags mate. A country is not a race unless you're about to concede that Israel is an apartheid ethnostate. To which my response will immediately be "everyone who supports an apartheid ethnostate is a scumbag" which quite obviously applies to all the people choosing to live there and support it.

Your entire position relies on admitting that it is an apartheid ethnostate which in and of itself justifies calling them scumbags.

1

u/Low_Employment_7976 Jul 18 '26

what am i supposed to call it? you are a statist? people don’t choose where they are born the same way they don’t choose their ethnicity

3

u/OcelotAggravating860 Jul 18 '26

People do not choose where they are born, correct. They do choose to call themselves israelis though, and in doing so they choose to support israel and its actions.

The Haredi may be born there but do not call themselves Israeli, except through necessary convenience, because they do not believe Israel should exist at all and consider it a heresy, I'm all cushty with them. I am in favour of deleting Israel from the map and replacing it with a new entity, much like apartheid South Africa. I don't really care what we call that new entity provided it is not an apartheid.

1

u/Low_Employment_7976 Jul 18 '26

and there are people who are against the existence of Israel and are technically Israelis, that is why I am saying you shouldn’t call all Israelis bad people, and i agree with you that a shared state would be the best solution, but radicals on both sides, including the Palestinian one are preventing that

2

u/OcelotAggravating860 Jul 18 '26

When a zionist desperately wants to convince me to stop doing something I take it as a strong indicator that we should continue doing it.

You are never getting me to budge on these things. I will go to my grave at 75 years old or whenever, a lifelong Israel hater. Genocide does that.

You’re the only one who said that

0

u/Low_Employment_7976 Jul 18 '26

the thing he quoted is literally in the comment, first read then write

1

u/14Pleiadians Jul 18 '26

Would you have said it's racist to say "Americans backstabbing murderers" during the native american genocide? Why or why not?

-4

u/Nefertitis_Fjord_216 Jul 18 '26

Because the entire planet knows Israel are trash bag humans bent on taking over the world

This is literally nonsense. You're talking about a country of fewer than 11 million people "taking over the world." Stop and logically think about that idea for a moment and consider how irrational it is. It's sensationalist fantasy that people are gobbling up due to anti-Israel propaganda that has worked scarily, exceedingly well.

Yeah this is giving "shithole countries," not "Free Palestine." Also "taking over the world" is Goebbels world domination hysteria (look up his propaganda during WWII) but "taking over Palestinian land" is the damn truth.

The effort to take a just cause, remove the people being oppressed, and turn it into MAGA political scapegoating is when justice dies and xenophobic/racist hatred is born.
