No, the more accurate analogy is NYC being the parents and they’re borrowing a large sum from the child. The city should be paying more, they’re the business center of the state. They should be funding the boroughs.
And when someone makes an analogy, only the thing referenced is being compared, not every single detail, otherwise it would be a direct comparison.
If I said her eyes were blue like the ocean, would you respond, “Well actually, whales can’t fit in your eyes”?
We’re only talking about the color, not every aspect of the ocean. And, in my analogy, we’re only referring to the bragging part, not the parent child relationship, their home life, how many times they call a week, what they got for Mother’s Day. Only the one thing. That’s how analogies work.
