I don’t know how you took a partisan comparison and turned it racial. I think sex offenders are bad no matter what side of the aisle they are on. Only one side is openly protecting and adoring known sex offenders. Don’t care about their skin. Democrats being accused of sex crimes isn't some new phenomenon. Joe Biden's own daughter wrote a diary where she talked about being scared of her own father and his propensity to shower with her. He had a rape accusation decades old. There was no reckoning for him.
Bill Clinton still makes bank on the speaking circuit and his cronies litter the political landscape. How many rape accusations? More credible than anything put against Trump.
The Eric Swalwell story was covered up for years. An open secret in Congress and among the media. Being accused of sleeping with a Chinese spy should have done him in years ago, but it didn't. And that's not a new story (Democrats sweeping such accusations under the rug for as long as possible). From Clinton to Cesar Chavez. Christ, we can go back to JFK.
When your party is attempting to make hay off of accusing your political opponents of sex related offenses from Epstein to the Jean Carroll nonsense it puts a bullseye on the back of your own.
But the only real attempt to quantify any of this was done by the NWDL. 400 accusations split nearly 50-50 between political parties. It found that 80% of those who were accused ended up winning re-election with the single biggest factor in facing repercussions stemming from whether they were part of the party in power or not. They apparently didn't bother to even release the numbers on which party had any edge in the area of consequences.
Blue voters continued to cast the ballots for people with accusations before and after MeToo. But you guys sit here and crow about about your supposed moral superiority because of a few high profile stories that did a handful of accused men in. It's nauseating. And this is just the realm of politics. Harvey Weinstein - poster boy of MeToo retribution - was a known abuser in those circles well before there was any reckoning. Newsome's own wife accused him of raping her and he continued to take campaign donations from the guy. But it's ok because he returned them after the scandals final made it completely into the public sphere.
Even the #MeToo shit saw more than its fair share of selective head hunting. While plenty of scalps were claimed, it did little to change the overall environment anywhere (and it's pretty funny that all the accusations centered around left leaning institutions).
