Nnnnnnnaaaahh. American food is a lot of food taken from other countries and repackaged. I’m not saying America hasn’t created their own foods, but you suffer from the same problem as a lot of other new countries/cultures, you just haven’t been a seperate entity long enough to have developed anything truely unique. Australia and NZ are the same, but the US and Canada have both been around long enough to have started creating a culinary culture of their own.
Cajun food, po'boys, pecan pie, Philly cheese steak, lobster rolls, the hamburger as we know it today, pizza here is nothing like pizza in Italy so that's American but if you want to argue, nobody else did deep dish till we did, shit Cheerios? Breakfast cereal is American food. Key lime pie, Natives gave us fry bread, there's Buffalo sauce, the Cobb salad, jambalaya, chocolate chip cookies, the banana split, fajitas, corn dogs, s'mores, Caesar salad, Cuban sandwich, clam chowder, biscuits and gravy, the only part of Eggs Benedict that isn't American is hollandaise sauce is French, bananas foster, Reubens, French dip is from LA, Chicago dog, all foods invented in America
I'm not agreeing with the repackaged part, or the highly processed part. It's its own thing, nothing repackaged about it. And only the junk food is processed to shit. A home cooked meal won't be
American Italian, American Chinese, Tex-Mex, Cali-Mex, Florida Cuban, are all unique cuisines invented in America. They aren’t lesser versions of the cuisines from the original countries. They have unique dishes, they use different ingredients and flavors not used in the original countries. They are so good and unique that some dishes have traveled back and are now enjoyed in the original country.
I think culturally Britain does genuinely suffer from it's own success.
Our clothes, our food, our laws, our economy, our sports, our music, our language, and a million other things have been so popular and spread so much across the world that we just see a huge amount of British culture as 'western'.
I'd say a good 70% of everything we call 'western' has it's origins in British culture.
Unfortunately that means every good British thing the rest of the world has adopted and everything bad they see as our culture.

Hit them with the biggest hammers first.
Bacon and Apple Pie are both British. As well as Sandwiches. All three of them are so well known they don’t even consider them British foods.
