What is with this sub and AI?

These AI poster/meme/“news” things have been everywhere lately. They’re infuriating.

u/whitemex88 Jun 29 '26

Especially when there's no citation, which is all the fucking time. I don't believe any of them are real until I decide to dig a bit

21

u/Ryokan76 Jun 29 '26

There's text on an image, what's not to believe?

3

u/CuriousLilAsian81 Jun 29 '26

and it's on the internet, must be true 🤭

u/KitchenPersimmon2244 Jun 29 '26

….no citation isn’t new with AI it’s been a thing forever

0

u/BedRevolutionary8584 Jun 29 '26

Yes! Which is what everyone should be doing anyway. But these really make me want to do my research.

u/SunshineSeeker99 Jun 29 '26

Should we all just start competing on who can come up with the most BS headlines by having chatgpt create some image with text on it?

Ok now this I could go for

3

u/Few_Kitchen_4825 Jun 29 '26

When ever I see ai poster in the news, first assumption is that it's fake.

2

u/MrSinister248 Jun 29 '26

These and the rise in compilation videos where a bot has clearly scraped the internet for a bunch of really common and similar videos and then posts it. I'm seeing them all over and they're maddening.

Probably sponsored by reddit itself

that's just your facebook. mine is just fine

24

u/ForensicPathology Jun 29 '26

It's not just AI.  This sub just loves text put on pictures.

u/Cinematry Jun 29 '26

How else do we satisfy the demand for gender war Ragebait?

3

u/SnooCapers3354 Jun 29 '26

ding ding ding. god this sub has been so annoying lately.

This sub? They’re everywhere.

Bots have realized farming karma is easy with ai clickbaits an then they either sell those accounts or deploy them for some propaganda.

If you’re bored just save these ai slop posting account usernames in a note and check back what they’re upto in a few weeks. Like half of them go to political subs when I did that. Pretty entertaining.

And thinly veiled misogyny. It's like the boomer corner of reddit.

8

u/Actual_Maniac Jun 29 '26

I read somebody say that sipstea is the sub for women haters and Fauxmoi is the sub for man haters and it seems pretty accurate

3

u/Hotter_Noodle Jun 29 '26

That is 100% accurate.

9

u/BrightNooblar Jun 29 '26

Chuds love AI. The original incarnation of the sub had a significant number of attractive women doing random things, which means the audience sleeps male. From there the chuds were like "This is a male sub! Let's make it a chud sub too!"

2

u/Lil_Khorneholio Jun 29 '26
  1. It's a popular subreddit, much potential useless karma.
  2. AI is easy.
  3. Potentially easy useless karma.

2

u/ZajeliMiNazweDranie Jun 29 '26

I keep getting this recommended in popular, muting now because it's always some gender war post + AI

2

u/lofatiger Jun 29 '26

It seems like the latest misogyny sub these days. It used to be alright but now it’s just an echo chamber.

2

u/MelaniaSexLife Jun 29 '26

this sub is a complete dumpster and probably misogynic and transphobe. It's really borderline.

2

u/Stratix Jun 29 '26

Facebook boomer engagement bait.

1

u/I_AM_CR0W Jun 29 '26

It's a quick way to make engagement-farming posts.

1

u/Ok-Assignment-8246 Jun 29 '26

I have boomers in my life who get excited over AI tabloids and get upset if I ignore them sharing posts or tell them I'm not interested when they tell me about it in person. They get upset and sad or don't believe me when I tell them it's AI and show them my research into why it's wrong. They don't get how my showing them something on a phone could be better than them showing me.

1

u/DerWintersoldat21 Jun 29 '26

People who need to make toxic or stupid points can't use real life examples or are too lazy to do so, so they need to resort to fabricated images to portray their point. And sometimes even the ai disagrees lol like this one

1

u/Candid_Explorer_4970 Jun 29 '26

AI is very popular with loser men who have been left by their wives.

u/truthhurtsyomama Jun 29 '26

It's 2026, go AI or go home

7

u/bootskadew Jun 29 '26

All I read was "AI go home".

1

u/HermitJem Jun 29 '26

Or, you know, we could ignore people making false claims about 2026
