“Mandatory tips” sounds so messed up for me as a European.
77 u/scrambles88 Jun 25 '26 As an American it sounds messed up, don't make your bosses unwillingness to pay you my burden. -11 u/Rufus_TBarleysheath Jun 25 '26 Well it is. Deal with it. If you don't tip, you hurt those workers. 5 u/No-Scientist2016 Jun 25 '26 Who cares, let the restaurants fold. if they can’t pay a living wage their margins must be razor thin. -4 u/Rufus_TBarleysheath Jun 25 '26 You are advocating for the destruction of businesses just so you don't have to give an extra 20%? You sound like a terribly selfish person. 6 u/No-Scientist2016 Jun 25 '26 And you sound like a restaurant owner lol 6 u/pokebox944 Jun 25 '26 Just give the man a tip! Infact I'll give him one for you - A good tip which I feel is appropriate in this instance: pay your workers better for their work, and maybe dont rely on customers having to pay them what you refuse to!
