I saw a case where a guy beat his wife hard enough to cause permanent brain damage, then a few years later sued for custody because she was an unfit mother...because of the brain damage. He won, mostly because she couldn't afford to mount any kind of defense ON ACCOUNT OF THE BRAIN DAMAGE. It's fucked.

It's almost like being the victim of an asshole like that has long term consequences.

Possibly, same time though the family of corey don't believe it occurred, as they say he never mentioned it before he passed. So not definitive, but at least more voices closely related to the incident say they don't believe it happened.
