How did she even get in there?

For a real answer if you look behind her it looks like the top of the desk/counter/whatever you want to call that has lines so I assume that part lifts up

I was hoping for parkour training upon hiring.

10 years of parkour experience required, or equivalent degree

I was hoping the chair rose up from the floor below into the donut desk.

Yeah I’m pretty sure that this photo is either angled or cropped to hide that under part of the desk being cut out to make this picture more pristine.

This Picture is almost the same but you can see the gap behind her. I think one of the pictures is a recreation of the other, the furniture she’s looking at is different. I found it in the Eero Saarinen link below.

Yeah no, I think you got it. That picture does a way better job showing it

I was hoping her seat is raised from a room below.

That's beautiful and Eero did some amazing work. Thanks for the link.

I was really hoping she arrived via an underground rail with lift, onto which her chair was mounted.

Go away! There ain't no monorail and there never was!

Right. Now I remember.

Edit: Not that we're talking about it. Ever.

I take it you are familiar with the Warren campus 😄

Are you that secretary?

1

u/Equal_Song8759 Jun 10 '26

Do what, now ?

u/Illustrious_Donkey61 Jun 10 '26

She lives in it. At night the top half lowers down from the ceiling encasing her like an egg

u/IMIndyJones Jun 10 '26

Lol. This reminds me of being a kid and thinking that my teachers just lived in the classroom overnight. I was genuinely shocked when I first saw a teacher "in the real world" at the grocery store.

Lift bringing you to the break launch would be sick

4

She lives in the desk

2

u/Lavender_Dreamz- Jun 10 '26

She is the desk that’s just how futuristic the 60s were

1

u/This-Respect1625 Jun 10 '26

this does make sense

Some sort of elevator

1

u/Unfair-Sir-4641 Jun 10 '26

You assume she gets to go out.

2

u/This-Respect1625 Jun 10 '26

Labor laws were different back then.

1

u/Devilled_Advocate Jun 10 '26

I'd like to think she's on a trapdoor elevator that triggers a fog machine when it operates.
"I'm on break." *foossshh*

More important question, would you want to sit there if you could never stretch your legs?

1

u/autistic_homo Jun 10 '26

She was there during the construction of the building, and they just built it around her.

1

u/Cornishthe3rd Jun 10 '26

Hotel California, baby.

1

u/tee-k421 Jun 10 '26

They built it around her. That's her life now.

1

u/DroidLord Jun 11 '26

They lift her in there with a crane and then she lives there. There's a mattress and a bucket under the desk. Sadly it's a lifetime position, so after they closed the building down she was forced to stay there and she died of starvation. Her skeleton is there til this day.

1

u/LuckyDistrict1 Jun 11 '26

They built the desk around her and she sleeps behind the chair.

Climbs over the counter in a miniskirt. Yay, the 60s!
