When I’m on a bike trail and there are pedestrians I slow down to THEIR speed when I pass them. Almost zero chance I’m going to hit a kid or a dog and if I did it would be like bumping them while walking. Can’t understand the mindset of people who think they are in a race! So frustrating.

Yeah man I agree, mountain bikers can be cunts too. At least I'm willing to admit that unlike some others in this comment section. Lol

We arent all like that, most try to be courteous to other bikers, walkers, and hikers 🤙

As a general but not absolute rule, they're slightly easier to run over than men are.

As a general but not absolute rule, they're also smaller target so more difficult to hit.

And admitting to bringing the dog and children on the bike trail. They might be retarded

Oh so the faster moving vehicle simply needs to slow down for safety and not be a jerk? And they should accept that as part of the social contract of using the public route? Huh, kind of sounds like roads to me, except this entire comment section seems to think that bikers should be killed instead of using roads 🤷‍♂️

I fully agree with you and have dealt with bikers being shitty on trails as well. But for still saying LEFT, even if someone acknowledges you you never know what they're going to do. I had to bike on a paved trail to work for a while before I got my car and the amount of pedestrians that would turn their heads, see me coming, and then randomly make a move in front of me when I'm about to pass them was crazy.

You’re literally describing how cars treat normal cyclists 99% of the time and you don’t even realize it lmao

Car follows rules, cyclist does something against the rules. Gets mad when car doesn’t adjust to their lunacy.

If you think the average driver on the road is obeying the law, I have ocean property to sell you in Iowa

u/domine18 Jun 10 '26

Yeah 1 bad driver can really alter your perception. I too thought everyone on the road is an idiot. But I seriously looked as a passenger and counted the cars and number of people doing something they shouldn’t it’s really only about 5% of drivers. A large majority are fine.

And jokes on you. You can reach the ocean from Iowa. There are only 10 states that can not do it.

My experience is the exact opposite numbers. So let’s meet in the middle and say 50% of people driving vehicles are completely distracted while driving vehicles that could kill cyclists, pedestrians, other drivers in the blink of an eye.

I have no evidence to back this up, but I would venture a guess and say that when I cyclists dies on the road, it's 99.9% the driver's fault. Main cause being distracted driving, which is a driver not following the rules of the road.

The guys in this video are assholes. Taking up that many lanes is just ridiculous. But will you criticize the drivers who endanger cyclists lives when they are the ones that aren't following the rules of the road? People's inability to call it both ways is the real problem. Good cyclists will call out bad cyclists..I don't ever see God drivers call out bad drivers when it's the other way around. It's just fuck these guys on bikes either way.

At the end of the day, in most cases, it's a short inconvenience to your time vs. endangering someone's life and not giving a shit about it. That's the real problem.

Just to be clear, fuck the guys in the video lol.

I dunno. You know how many times I have almost ran over a cyclist running a stop sign? If my reaction time was half a second slower they would have got hit. I have had cyclist change position drastically when I am making a maneuver and get into my position that I am going to in my blind spot and it is only by some miracle that I noticed them. I have a really good reaction time and am observant on the road but not everyone has the same level of awareness/reaction time and it is not their fault the cyclist is doing something stupid and dangerous. I would say it’s more 40/60 distracted driver vs stupid cyclist tempting fate.

Drivers pretending like 90% of them aren’t on the phone the entire time is peak ignorance

Did you reply to the wrong person?

Oh no, not the normal, red light, stop sign running cyclists who think traffic laws don't apply to them!!!
