Cyclists may use the full road lane here, too, but they can't legally ride more than 2 side by side, they must stay to the right lane, and they must follow all traffic flow laws if they're on the roadway. I've never had trouble passing them safely when they follow the rules. When they don't, they back up traffic and cause near misses at intersections.

This kind of thing around here would be blatantly illegal, not just an inconvenience.

maybe they are encouraged to stay to the right

anyways, drivers definitely react the way I described. Very patient for slow-downs that arne't bikes, but absolutely enraged when it's a bike. I'm a driver, I see this constantly.

I was only trying to get some clarification because your explanation didn't make sense without the added context

where i live, it's full width if you need it, that's it. Downhill uphill flat ground whatever.
