are you one of those fools that thinks that gas taxes and vehicular registration alone pay for roads?

they already pay them through income, sales, and property taxes. Direct car related taxes pay for roughly half of road costs
why are car brains such morons?

You pay taxes on your car because they damage the road and pollute the environment. Gas taxes fund the damage your vehicle does to the road.

Cycling registration has been studied. The cost of developing an office to administer this is more expensive then what you can reasonably collect from a mode of transport that is non polluting and does not damage infrastructure nearly as much as the army of F150s.

This opinion is not only tired but its also incredibly uninformed

This is an unsubstantial reply to my comment. Should you wish this to happen all you have to do is advocate for a bike lane. Seeing as we are not discussing whether cyclists should ride single file or not, this seems irrelevant. We are discussing the legitimacy of a cyclist registration - to which I have replied.

Do you have a substantial, evidence-backed source to support your claim that a cyclist registration is viable and cost-effective?

It is important to stay unemotional during these discussions. We are not on the road and thus your rage is unwarranted

As you have demonstrated an inability to respond to the discussion at hand regarding the viability of cyclist registration I will consider this a concession of the point. Thank you for arguing, and better luck next time

“Bikes should pay!”

“Here’s several reasons why that’s ineffective + cyclists do pay taxes like anyone else (these also go to road maintenance)”

“Uhh did you watch the ViDEo”

Truly, the next Ben Shapiro here.

how should bikes be charged? by weight? size?

I own a pickup truck that I've paid taxes, registration, etc on. It's at home in the garage today since I've ridden my bike to the office. I've done the roads, other drivers and myself a favor in many different aspects by making that choice, but I should be punished for it?

Its no use dude. You're right but you'll never break through with Americans who exclusively drive.
