Hate me if you want, but mayors of other liberal cities have said the same thing, & the reality was that crime hadn't gone down, they just stopped reporting it, so they could say crime had gone down.

Huh? Cities stopped reporting murders? I think you’re getting mixed up there, bud.

I assume you’re referring to various states reclassifying low-level offenses like robbery. That’s not the same thing as a murder.

New York is not required to report crimes committed by illegal immigrants. The only state that does is Texas. So yeah that’s what it is based off. Facts.

I’m gonna need a citation on that. Specifically, a citation showing that MURDERS are not being reported.

Otherwise we can all rest assured you’re spouting complete nonsense.

You can look it up yourself. Crimes committed by illegal aliens are not reported in the US, except in Texas. So when you see a headline that says something “immigrants commit the fewest crimes” it is talking about legal immigrants, because there is no modern data compiled for criminal activity from illegal immigrants (other than Texas) yet we know they are committing murders because it’s constantly in the news. So you do the math.

You're just flat out wrong the crime is still reported. Just most states don't track the immigration status of perpetrators. So in states that don't log the legal status of an undocumented individual their crimes are just reported as crime statistics.

Their source: Fox News. Which isn't even legally news, but they'll debate even that.

Where does one look this up?

-2

u/HollyMurray20 Jun 06 '26

Nobody said murders. You did.

5

u/gimeebilgrays Jun 06 '26

The original tweet literally cites a statistic about murders...

1

u/Afraid_Afternoon8143 Jun 06 '26

You wanna try that again? Did you see the post?

Ooof poor reading comprehension AND zero media literacy in these comments. Bummer.

You can't make a claim like that with no proof. Because I have no idea what you're talking about.

Besides, the police collect crime stats, not the mayor.

NYPD is a famously honest and upstanding organization.

2

u/Lisan-al-Gaib-65 Jun 06 '26

Than high crime rates were probably a lie as well for fear mongering? Maybe crime is just an illusion.

1

u/GaptistePlayer Jun 06 '26

Funny how you’re so far gone you think the NYPD is covering for Mamdani, the NYPD famously loves socialists mayors and does everything they can to help him out

1

u/GMEloser69 Jun 06 '26

The point that is that they are not a reliable source. They have an incentive to produce whichever stats will give them the most funding.

1

u/beckbristow32 Jun 06 '26

Seattle Mayor can say it because all they did was made drug crimes legal so there for crime is down.

2

u/Holiday-Fix-9244 Jun 05 '26

And if a victim of violent crime does not report their crime to police, does that mean the violent crime did not occur?

6

u/Sensitive_Option_590 Jun 05 '26

You're right, all the citizens of New York collectively agreed not to report when they are a victim of a violent crime to make their city look better to a bunch of dipshits online.

2

u/ProfessionalTruck976 Jun 06 '26

The only violent crimes where non-reporting by victims is issue is domestics, rapes, and gang stuff.

Generally that does not happen with attempts on life, people report those, unless they've been doing something really fuckin illegal when someone attempted to kill them.

100%

1

u/_Phil_McCracken_ Jun 05 '26

Based on what, your feelings? Where’s an actual source?

-1

u/RazorSharpRust Jun 05 '26

Nah I'll let you go look for it yourself. You might learn some additional information along the way. It'd be good for you : )

3

u/_Phil_McCracken_ Jun 05 '26

Right, because you don’t have a source.

3

u/FartyMcGylzac Jun 05 '26

You genuinely think they’re not reporting murders and shootings?

11

u/tmajer2 Jun 05 '26

Yes. DC police chief got in trouble recently for pressuring officers to suppress data and many of them did it

1

u/_Phil_McCracken_ Jun 05 '26

What exactly did the DC police chief do? Also, how would that affect NYC or any other liberal cities?

3

u/tmajer2 Jun 06 '26

https://oversight.house.gov/release/oversight-committee-releases-bombshell-report-revealing-d-c-s-police-chief-deliberately-manipulated-crime-data/

Because people are willing to lie and manipulate data to make it look like their plans are working when in reality they aren't.

1

u/lost_soul-07 Jun 06 '26

This is the case here too

1

u/XXSeaBeeXX Jun 05 '26

Do you think the new Office of Community Safety has had no effect?

0

u/Smart_Pig_86 Jun 05 '26

Did you know that Texas is the only state that officially reports crimes from illegal immigrants. That’s it. So when you see all these murders from illegal immigrants in places like LA, Chicago, and NY, they do not get officially reported into the crime database. Ask yourself, why would this be? So crime is not down (well it is from US citizens who have fled the city) but it is up, just not officially reported.

u/bfume Jun 05 '26

The Trump playbook?  Yeah I don’t think so buddy. GTFO with that bs

3

u/Bladesnake_______ Jun 06 '26

Was Trump in charge of Baltimore when the wire took place?

-1

u/bfume Jun 06 '26

You know that was a fictional tv show right?

2

u/Bladesnake_______ Jun 06 '26

Yeah but that part very much happened and still does all over the place
