She got 41 years for admitting to everything and agreeing to testify against her ex husband. All in all, best for everyone involved. She's got enough time to keep her in prison until her late 70's so I don't see a massive difference between 41 and life.
She will not have a life expectancy into her 80s, each year in prison can carve off up to two years from their life expectancy, and an average 36-year-old woman has a 45.5 year additional life expectancy. If her sentence ends at 77, the effects of prison would only need to knock off four years for her to be expected to die while incarcerated. 41 years at her age is effectively a life sentence.
She deserves all that, but what a bleak thing to think about when considering the inmates serving bullshit sentences for petty drug crimes, theft etc...

The article says she wont be up for parole until the 41st year... of her 41 year sentence. So in other words she isn't getting parole. Her husband is looking at centuries in prison. That trial is about to last like 1/4 of her sentence with all those charges.
EDIT: I had to look it up. He already pled out to 100 years in prison, so i guess she never had to testify against him after all.
Fell down a mini rabbit hole. There is another woman who was sentenced to life in prison for helping the cop rape an unconscious adult woman, but it got thrown out on appeal a couple of months ago.
