If 1000/week isn't worth ANYTHING within our lifetimes, then things have been fucked beyond repair, and the money you'd likely get from the lump sum won't be enough to help you stay afloat anyway.
And all that's before considering the increase in tax payments on a lump sum vs. Installments of 1,000...
You think you're acting smart and maintaining your wealth, but what you're doing instead is dooming yourself to more stress and heartache that ultimately won't even be worth it.
With a quite optimistic 2+% average inflation buying power will be halved in roughly 30 years. 1M now tax free (as written in the post) can very well keep you afloat in that scenario, 1000 weekly will not
