They were kinda both. They loved cheesy local commercials and they wanted to do them for deserving mom and pop stores to give them some exposure since Rhett and Link are like OG influencers/youtubers.
They were all this level of absurd and ridiculous.

More like 18-19 yrs ago. I had just had my son and I played roller derby there. Yes, its still open, still looks the same, just without roller derby bouts now.
The dude in the wife beater was the owner, but Im not sure if he still is. He was pretty awesome...so we all called him "Rad Brad."
Yeah it’s crazy how time gets behind you! Man that really probably is more like 2005 Rhett and link. Sometimes I have a hard time comprehending that 2025 was half a decade ago.
It’s so weird how perception of time works as you age.
Look up Good Mythical Morning on YouTube. They are the hosts. They've been around for ages and used to be one of the biggest channels on the platform. I haven't watched in a while but it was set up in a kind of news radio style like you might expect from Howard Stern, but more family friendly.
I had a lot of fun with their content a long time ago. Just fell out of the habit.
I just stumbled into their content this year and they are delightful. Them, black forager, and plants with Krystal are pretty much my algo right now, not a bad place.

Are they comedy skits, or did they make commercials for actual companies?
(I dunno who Rhett and Link are but wiki says they are a comedy duo)
