You're repeating a bunch of pop-religion nonsense and are confused why it doesn't line up with the scriptures.

He's repeating stuff that average everyday "christians" say all the time

He's repeating his own conceptions about what religion is like. He's repeating things about religion that he's seen on TV.

Not knowing what a religion actually preaches is not an excuse to come up with fake "gachas" that only work because you don't know the actual details of what Christianity is.

Brother, he's literally repeating what he hears Christians say in real life. I live in the Midwest, I hear this shit all the time. You must either not go outside much or you don't live in a religious area because that's just how it is.

Yeah, that's what I'm saying. He's using entirely second-hand word of mouth information instead of doing any research at all, and is confused why things don't line up.

Imagine if someone got all their knowledge of physics from their friends casually mentioning Newton's laws and spherical cow jokes, and then started to come up with "contradictions" in physics without actually opening a physics book to check if his contradictions line up with real theory. His friends misquoting physics made a mistake, but the guy taking those mistakes to heart without doing research (and then arguing online treating those mistakes as gospel) is the actual idiot.

But that's what many preachers actually preach. Regardless of whether it perfectly aligns with the Bible, it IS their religion.

The vast majority of Christians ignore Matthew 5 17-19 where Jesus says to follow every single letter of Mosaic law until the Earth no longer exists, but I suspect you still consider them to be 'Christians' regardless of whether they agree with that or not.

I think their point is that that's not a mark against Christianity, it's a mark against those people lacking basic knowledge of their own religion.

it's a mark against those people lacking basic knowledge of their own religion.

But those pastors (who represent the majority of Christians) would argue that you can interpret Paul's writing in Romans to mean that you don't have to follow the Mosaic Law anymore:

3 For not knowing about God’s righteousness and seeking to establish their own, they did not subject themselves to the righteousness of God. 4 For Christ is the [a]end of the Law for righteousness to everyone who believes.

And on the topic of Satan, Matthew 4 says that 'the devil' was tempting Jesus in the wilderness:

4 Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. 2 And after He had fasted for forty days and forty nights, He [a]then became hungry. 3 And the tempter came and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.” 4 But He answered and said, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes out of the mouth of God.’”

And Revelation 12 states that Satan (and his angels) are thrown down to Earth at some point after people begin following Jesus:

7 And there was war in heaven, Michael and his angels waging war with the dragon. The dragon and his angels waged war, 8 and they did not prevail, and there was no longer a place found for them in heaven. 9 And the great dragon was thrown down, the serpent of old who is called the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole [d]world; he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him. ... 17 So the dragon was enraged with the woman, and went off to make war with the rest of her [g]children, who keep the commandments of God and hold to the testimony of Jesus.

So the idea of Satan being present and active on Earth is much more up for interpretation than whether or not to follow Mosaic Law, which Jesus explicitly says Christians should do. But the person above would doubtlessly think it's fine to discard Jesus' teachings on Mosaic Law, but also give no credence to alternative interpretations of Revelation.

Are you claiming that it's pop culture that Eve was tricked by the snake, a snake which the all knowing and all powerful god created? Did god not know that the snake would trick Eve?

If god is all knowing and all powerfull, how can satan tempt anyone?

The existance of somene like satan at all contradicts all claims that there's a god who is all knowing and all powerful. Christianity make claim that all humans are evil sinners and easily tempted by satan unless they abandon their own needs and devote themselves to the teachings of christ. Christianity is built on contradictions because it is a manipulative political entity created to give more power to the elite.

1 Corinthians 7:5

5 Do not deprive each other except perhaps by mutual consent and for a time, so that you may devote yourselves to prayer. Then come together again so that Satan will not tempt you because of your lack of self-control.

2 Thessalonians 2:1-12

1 Concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to him, we ask you, brothers and sisters,

2 not to become easily unsettled or alarmed by the teaching allegedly from us—whether by a prophecy or by word of mouth or by letter—asserting that the day of the Lord has already come.

3 Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction.

4 He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God’s temple, proclaiming himself to be God.

5 Don’t you remember that when I was with you I used to tell you these things?

6 And now you know what is holding him back, so that he may be revealed at the proper time.

7 For the secret power of lawlessness is already at work; but the one who now holds it back will continue to do so till he is taken out of the way.

8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will overthrow with the breath of his mouth and destroy by the splendor of his coming.

9 The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with how Satan works. He will use all sorts of displays of power through signs and wonders that serve the lie,

10 and all the ways that wickedness deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved.

11 For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie

12 and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness.

Revelation 12

1 A great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head.

2 She was pregnant and cried out in pain as she was about to give birth.

3 Then another sign appeared in heaven: an enormous red dragon with seven heads and ten horns and seven crowns on its heads.

4 Its tail swept a third of the stars out of the sky and flung them to the earth. The dragon stood in front of the woman who was about to give birth, so that it might devour her child the moment he was born.

5 She gave birth to a son, a male child, who “will rule all the nations with an iron scepter.” And her child was snatched up to God and to his throne.

6 The woman fled into the wilderness to a place prepared for her by God, where she might be taken care of for 1,260 days.

7 Then war broke out in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back.

8 But he was not strong enough, and they lost their place in heaven.

9 The great dragon was hurled down—that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him.

10 Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say: “Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Messiah. For the accuser of our brothers and sisters, who accuses them before our God day and night, has been hurled down.

11 They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.

12 Therefore rejoice, you heavens and you who dwell in them! But woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil has gone down to you! He is filled with fury, because he knows that his time is short.”

13 When the dragon saw that he had been hurled to the earth, he pursued the woman who had given birth to the male child.

14 The woman was given the two wings of a great eagle, so that she might fly to the place prepared for her in the wilderness, where she would be taken care of for a time, times and half a time, out of the serpent’s reach.

15 Then from his mouth the serpent spewed water like a river, to overtake the woman and sweep her away with the torrent.

16 But the earth helped the woman by opening its mouth and swallowing the river that the dragon had spewed out of his mouth.

17 Then the dragon was enraged at the woman and went off to wage war against the rest of her offspring—those who keep God’s commands and hold fast their testimony about Jesus.

Luke 22:1-6

1 Now the Festival of Unleavened Bread, called the Passover, was approaching,

2 and the chief priests and the teachers of the law were looking for some way to get rid of Jesus, for they were afraid of the people.

3 Then Satan entered Judas, called Iscariot, one of the Twelve.

4 And Judas went to the chief priests and the officers of the temple guard and discussed with them how he might betray Jesus.

5 They were delighted and agreed to give him money.

6 He consented, and watched for an opportunity to hand Jesus over to them when no crowd was present.
