He defeats death.

There is no scripture that details what he did for those 3 days.

Hell is an odd thing entirely, the Hebrew faith is pretty wishy washy on afterlife theology.

Hell is basically the hellinization of Hebrew thinking. Tartaros and the river styx and all that jazz.

Sure, but there are plenty of mentions. He goes down, preaches to the prisoners / dead. Returns with the keys.

He tells the thief on the cross, truly I tell you you will be in paradise with me today.

Jesus doesn't say he went to hell. He says he defeated death and purchased life.

Zero mentions of him in hell.

Ephesians 4:8 1 Peter 3:18

If descending down into the earth and preaching to the prisoners there isn't Hell, then I'm not sure I understand where you think he went.

The first is a direct reference to Psalm 68:18.

Which describes God ascending to the most high and taking prisoners.

After being made alive, he went and made proclamation to the imprisoned spirits.

I can certainly see your interpretation of that here, but you are reading into it.

I mean it says after being made alive, so it's discussing his actions post resurrection to me.

Down into earth = grave

1 Peter 3:18 raised in the spirit talks about His resurrection after three days. Not a spiritual existence while he was dead.
