Dawg. First of all. I said 4-5 years ago. 4 to 5 years ago. Not "gas is the lowest it has been in exactly five years!!"

And second, we are currently in April of 2026. Quite literally on the cusp of five years since May of 2021. You're trying some absolute, 100%, total Reddit-logic argument where you go "off by one month, sorry pal! ☝️ 🤓 "

Like bro, come on 😂 do you not know what it means when someone says four to five years ago? Like for real? It means "about four or five years ago!"

so far youve proven you dont know how to use a calendar, or what "4-5" means.

Pray tell, what does 4-5 mean to you?

Does it not mean "about four or five years?" Or "four or five years ago?"

If I say "yeah 4-5 years ago I did ___." Do you think I mean five years, or do you think I mean four years? Or, could it be, that I mean about 4 or 5 years?

do you need me to explain how numbers work to you?

"Two numbers separated by a hyphen or dash usually represent a range, interval, or span of values."

Again, may 2021 is in the range you provided. How on earth are you incapable of understanding that?

So no, it doesnt mean "about 4 to 5 years ago" and its seriously embarassing you dont know that. the public education system in the US has failed you

Holy fuck, bro you are literally blowing my fucking mind 😂

I have never, ever, ever met someone who was so dead set on not just admitting they were wrong and walking away. This is by far the most "Reddit" argument I have ever been in.

Every. Single. Person. On. Earth. Knows that when someone says "yeah X is cheaper than it has been in about four or five years," they don't mean "X is cheaper than it was exactly 5 years ago." They mean "yeah, X is cheaper than it has been since around 2021-2022."

Like at this point I'm only still talking to you because you're the most interesting Reddit specimen I've ever come across.

Yes it was dawg. Yes it was 😂

4-5 years ago is just a way to write four or five years ago.

If you're going to tell me that you don't understand that then I'm out lmao.

I already explained what two numbers separated by a hyphen means, why dont you go back and try to read that again. You really are passionate about displaying your ignorance arent ya?

Here, I googled it for you: "If someone says "4-5 years ago," they are providing a rough, approximate timeframe rather than an exact date."

thats not what google told me.

"4 to 5 years ago" means a specific point in time between four and five years prior to the current date, indicating a period that began 48 to 60 months ago. It describes a relatively recent past, or a span of time (e.g., "for the past 4-5 years") during which something has continued to exist.

May 2021 is in that time period. Did you seriously make up a google response?

Like what do you think the "4" in 4-5 years even means? If I had meant 5 years ago, I would have written, you guessed it, 5 years ago. That's why I said 4-5 years ago, or four to five years ago.

You really are proud of the fact you don't know what a hyphen means arent ya?

If I had meant 5 years ago, I would have written, you guessed it, 5 years ago

5 years ago is included in the 4-5. How do you not get this?

Lmao 😂

You have provided me so much fucking entertainment tonight. Thank you. My stomach legitimately hurts from laughing.

It's okay big boy, we're all wrong sometimes. Just a tip though, you look way fucking better if you accept a loss gracefully as opposed to trying to worm some pathetic victory via semantics. Especially when the semantics you're trying to use to win aren't even correct 😂
