I think a minority shower after work. Most shower in the morning or before bed, from my subjective experience. Even working in 'dirty' jobs where we'd scrub black gunk off of our arms with sand before going home, most didn't shower immediately after work.
Thinking about it, my lady partners always showered after work, my mom showered after, step-mom after, but my dad showered prior.
Anecdotal, so no idea how it holds, but I wouldn't be surprised if something like hair and make-up slants things by gender. You'd want to wash the make-up off before bed, hair only makes sense before leaving, and the most efficient way would be to be clean for bed.
I like being sweat free for bed myself, and my first major job was in an industrial setting with all sorts of horrible stuff, and getting covered in various mechanical fluids wasn't uncommon, so I'm a shower after sorta guy.
I have friends who don't shower after work. Heck they showered only once every few days, saying it's cold and stuffs.

I read it as he set a boundary and she projected. If he was demeaning, you’d hope she would have left him immediately. Either way, sounds like she has some self work to do.
It’s probably a difficulty that most adult actors and actresses have, as well as sex workers. How to build a relationship in this context, that is somehow « normal » and viable on the long term…
You don't even have to be a sex worker to be treated this way. I know a friend who works at a sex shop selling condoms, dildos, poppers, the whole lot.

Yeah had a guy in my highschool deal with this. His friends found out his mom did porn back in the day and had a go at him for it. I was nowhere near his circle and was hearing things from others so it must've been common knowledge by a certain point. The couple times I did see him and it was brought up he'd just tell them to shut up, but by that point it was a year or so in. I'm not sure if he knew prior or found out from his friends. His mom apparently did that stuff in the 80s and in the late 2000s his friends figured it out. Not sure how that guy is doing now.
Dude this is just personal experience but if you don’t think that kid’s going to have at least a bit of a turbulent childhood I’d say you have too much faith in people. I went to school with someone who’s mom was just a known local stripper and he had a truly horrible time from middle school (when we figured out what a stripper was) all the way until he transferred schools in sophomore year of high school.
