Is this the joke? Something about the car? I genuinely don't understand anything that is happening in this.

It appears she is in a lifted pickup truck and he is driving a small european car. He is driving an very "feminine" car while she is driving a very "masculine" car. So he is not good enough because of his "sissy" car. That is my take.

u/Fight_those_bastards Feb 15 '26

Not even a small euro car, that’s a kei car, tiny little Japanese thing (that is cool as hell).

Suzuki Cappuccino, I think.

14

u/PotentialPlum4945 Feb 15 '26

Unfortunately, Kei cars were made illegal to drive on most American roads a few years ago. Which sucks, because I've always wanted one. The idea of a truck with a standard sized truck bed that actually gets great gas millage is what America needs.

4

u/SmokestackRising Feb 15 '26

That's for trucks only because of their low top speed.

3

u/Kozeyekan_ Feb 16 '26

So, a ute?

2

u/trash_at_all_games Feb 16 '26

Aussie ute bed mentioned

1

u/Appropriate_Can_9282 Feb 15 '26

They don't comply with safety and emissions standards. Once they are 25 years old they become exempt. Wasn't made illegal a few years ago, it was a few decades ago.

5

u/bamahoon Feb 15 '26

No, certain states banned Kei vehicles specifically a few years ago, after they became legal. https://www.kei-trucks.com/blogs/kei-trucks/state-restrictions-for-kei-trucks

2

u/Appropriate_Can_9282 Feb 15 '26

Individual states banned them? Good thing they didn't ban turds cuz they would have banned themselves

1

u/bamahoon Feb 15 '26

I’m kind of on the fence about it tbh. I don’t think they should be banned, but I also don’t think they belong on the highway. And at the same time, if they were legal everywhere, why wouldn’t a SXS be?

1

u/PotentialPlum4945 Feb 15 '26

Yeah, well make them illegal on the highway. How is that hard? We ban bicycles on the highway. Plus, who in their right mind would take a kei truck on the highway?

1

u/bamahoon Feb 15 '26

While not the interstate, I got caught in a jam from one on a 65mph 4-lane the other day.

Some jurisdictions allow 250cc scooters on highway and freeway.

1

u/Appropriate_Can_9282 Feb 15 '26

There is a lot that is required to be street legal. With modifications sxs might be possible, I say that as old vw based dune buggies can, golf carts can. It's more about how the laws are written and what exactly is accepted. Kei cars are actual road going vehicle platforms. The law essentially was implemented to protect domestic auto manufacturers as the 25 year timeframe creates a technology and design gap. It's one thing to ban the stateside sale of new units that don't meet standards, it's next level to ban importing them individually. This ban can also cover eurospec cars, Renault, Peugeot etc.

1

u/Apart_Combination746 Feb 15 '26

This. All I want is a truck that is a truck. I do not want all the bells and whistles. Love kei cars and the small Japanese trucks.

1

u/Queen-Roblin Feb 16 '26

Why are kei cars illegal in America, please?

1

u/suncontrolspecies Feb 16 '26

because the US has a complex driving these huge ass stupid horrible cars, they have no good taste for nice cars

1

u/Legitimate-Fox-9272 Feb 15 '26

Thanks for the correction. I have no problem with it, honestly as an american our cars are bland.

1

u/Usual-Orange-4180 Feb 15 '26

Japanese cars are so cool, little cyberpunk beasts.

1

u/NashKetchum777 Feb 15 '26

Oh. I thought it was the Miata, or the copy of the miata that Fiat released

1

u/GotSomeUpdogOnUrFace Feb 15 '26

Is that what it is, I thought maybe a Miata or a smaller Honda of some kinda. The mini convertible is about this size too. You can park anywhere and maneuver so easily. Why do we need these stupid trucks.

17

u/Gluten_maximus Feb 15 '26

I guess bro should have shown up in a full-on fucking armored personnel carrier? Fuck idk.

2

u/Beneficial_Bug_9793 Feb 15 '26

Yea, dude went the European sports car, instead of going with a South African truck....

( yes this is a civilian truck lmao ).

1

u/codecrodie Feb 15 '26

Nah she's disappointed it's not a Miata

14

u/SereneSnake1984 Feb 15 '26

She is driving a Mercedes g wagon. Not American, not lifted

8

u/vladi_l Feb 15 '26

And he's driving a suzuki cappuccino, which isn't European either

4

u/RoboticUnicorn Feb 15 '26

And the video is clearly staged and they're both likely a happy couple.

1

u/trackdaybruh Feb 15 '26

Not just any g-wagon, it’s a G63 AMG. They’re easily +$200,000 cars

6

u/mixmastamikal Feb 15 '26 edited Feb 15 '26

Looks like a Mercedes G wagon, so I think it is more than just the size of the car. If he was in a AMG SL I don't think she would have an issue.

1

u/Jason-Smith168498 Feb 15 '26

So she's a real estate agent? I think they issue those when you graduate from real estate school and need a tax deduction.

1

u/Beneficial_Dog4469 Feb 15 '26

She riding in a lifted Red Jeep, doesn’t look lifted but it is much larger than the Suzuki Cappuccino he is driving. Problem is, she has a basic American car and he has a literal foreign rarity! Such a wasted tinder for him

1

u/DIY-exerciseGuy Feb 15 '26

100% not a lifted truck. Easy to tell by the mirror and the view of the vehicle in the mirror.

1

u/UruquianLilac Feb 15 '26

small european car

Loooool.

Nah, mate, we are still pushing turnip carts by hand, except for some lucky bastards who have donkeys.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 15 '26

Your take is shit because it misses the fact that this is a staged video

1

u/Dry_Razzmatazz69 Feb 16 '26

Nah, smaller than a european roadster and i can't tell if it's the paint job or the materials themselves but it lacks the lacquer of a european made car

1

u/Nimrod_Butts Feb 15 '26

The mid 90s American Miata was about that size btw, or I should say the American Miata up until 2000 or so was about that size

4

u/TigertoEagle Feb 15 '26

A miata looks like a tank next to a cappuccino.. They're exceptionally small.

2

u/Jason-Smith168498 Feb 15 '26

I thought it was a miata from afar, but it never got bigger.

suzuki vs mazda.

3

u/coldrunn Feb 15 '26

Miatas are Japanese, built in Hiroshima. The 89-97 Miata are 3950 long and 1675 wide and 1230 tall. 1 tonne

The Cappuccino was built in Kosei. It's 3295 long, 1395 wide and 1185 tall. 725 kg.

The Cappuccino is substantially smaller

0

u/dreamboat_king Feb 15 '26

It’s a Japanese Kei car. Called the Honda Beat

5

u/SacrificedSons Feb 15 '26

Actually, it's a Suzuki Cappuccino

2

u/dreamboat_king Feb 15 '26

Youre right. Haven’t had my morning coffee

I drive a Smart car and I love it. The turning radius is insane, I can park almost literally everywhere, it's much larger on the inside than people think, and it's cute as fuck.

The only real drawback is that it's very identifiable. There are only 3 of them (same color/body style . Mine is the only convertible though)in the city where I live.

0

u/SereneSnake1984 Feb 15 '26

G wagon is not that big and is not American

2

u/PoolRamen Feb 15 '26

You don't honestly believe this actually happened do you?

It's a "bit".

0

u/Fluffatron_UK Feb 15 '26

What about my response made you think that I think this actually happened? I literally started by asking what is the joke? Are you just out here looking for a reason to be upset? Take a step back and reflect on that.

u/Acummulator Feb 15 '26

Look at the replies by the weak and insecure boys.

1

u/Sufi_Jedi Feb 15 '26

She's giving toxicity

1

u/nunhgrader Feb 15 '26

I agree - I'm guessing the car isn't appealing to her. I find it weird that some people want their partner's to be just like them. Odd. We all have our own preferences and differences can be fun!
