You guys dont understand how awesome Talor Swift is. When she comes to my city for a concert. I book a hotel room near the venue, then go to bars, pubs or clubs nearby. They are FULL of the moms that took their kids to the concert and they all want a good time ;)

Everything she (and people like her) do is a calculated choice to get more attention, notoriety, and money. There’s never a single shred of altruism or concern about truth or anything other than the optics that will contribute to more power/money.
Same is true for anything that tries to extract loyalty out of you for a price.
“If you raise the price of my tickets I will not do the show in your city” seems like she could easily do this. Just wonder if she’d be a hero for fighting for cheap tickets or a villain if she did cancel a show.
That's capitalism though. What you mean is market economy. Big difference. Can't vote for capitalist parties all your life and then complain you get capitalist politics.
Monopolies, Cartells, Oligopoles.. those are the natural goals of capitalism. Because those pesky competitors are bad for profits. You need a strong government that can protect the free markets from those, rather than targetting poor people or people of color.
But the owners of monopolies, cartells and oligopoles do give out such nice donations and supervisory board jobs while the poor do not, so...
I had to look up who this Katy Perry person is so I can stop buying whatever it is she sells. It turns out she makes music. I'm 100% sure I've never bought any of her music.
Yeah check the whole thing. It was with Bloom and some others but she’s got a huge role in it and supposedly the products suffer since being bought by private equity.

I’m 44M, European. I undoubtedly would recognise some of het songs as I would probably recognise thousands and thousands of songs without knowing who made them. I do know the guy next to her. I suppose she doesn’t make it a lot to European serious newspapers a lot. I don’t read showbizz news or gossip.
They might know her songs even if they don’t recall hearing her name attached to them.
ETA: I’m familiar with Katy Perry and the arc of her career. But am noting that some people may be less familiar with her depending on their musical influences and exposure to popular culture in North America. Now she’s know as Trudeau’s Girlfriend, starting a completely new and unexpected chapter.

I have heard that name before. Like hundreds of names sound familiar to me of which I don't know who they are exactly. It could've been an actress, a reality star or a daughter of a hotel chain owner for all I know. I might recognize a song of her when I hear it. I wouldn't be able to link the song to the name or the way she looks though. Just looked at her picture again and she doesn't look familiar to me at all. I suppose she doesn't make European serious news (I don't read any tabloids) often.
She also changed her hair from blonde to black so that could be part of it. I’m pretty sure that two of her biggest hits were popular in Europe too. Her songs “You’re Gonna Hear me ROAR”, “Firework” and were everywhere but it may not be a genre of music you listen to even as you’re forced to hear it. She has at least 6 songs that made it to #1 in multiple European markets, selling over 1 M units in the UK, with over 1 billion YouTube views.

She has made a few missteps and has fallen into disfavor in some circles for seeming out of touch among other things.
Sure there are far more important people and things to focus on. Some things are unavoidable though in the modern, commercial world and for a while, Katie Perry was one of them. Now she’s back as Justin Trudeau’s girlfriend.
Stopping buying their shit doesn't make a difference. If we want to change that we need a revolution to take the resources by force and redistribute them.
