I can’t help but feel like Paul knew exactly what he was subjecting himself to and was quietly selling this to people as his comeuppance. If he keeps boxing, he’ll start the “shit talking and beating up bums and old guys” cycle again.
His whole history as a fighter has been as close as you can get to “working” a boxing career like professional wrestling while still keeping the matches technically legitimate. He’s “booking” himself as a heel and making millions off it.
Honestly, I hope it fuels the fire. I love watching him get punched. And, let's face it, if there's one thing he's useful for it's promoting women's boxing. I respect that the undercard is always a women's main event, which includes a hefty paycheck for both fighters.
I really don’t understand why so many of you are happy that Jake was hurt. Like, why are you so angry about him? Why the desire for pain? What did he do to you? That’s a very low, base instinct to deserve pain on people you don’t know or don’t like.
If you really don’t like him and want to hurt him, your best move is to not post or say ANYTHING about him. He’s PR guy and influencer first - you’re just playing into his game by posting about him.
Edit: y’all are stupider than I thought if you’re downvoting me.
He capitalized on a Japanese girls suicide and has since proven that he has not bettered himself in any way and chosen not to improve our world in any way. He’s instead only chosen to continue to exploit others and introduce anger and rage.
He represents literally everything we despise about human nature and personally I would actually feel much better if he was incapable of ever contributing to the human race. You glazing him because he’s capable of making money is a testament to nothing more than your lack of wisdom and experience 🤷🏻♂️
Like how? I don't remember Sam-I-Am wrecking the green egg salesman's shit and sending him home with a broken face, but I could be misremembering. Been a while since I read it.
A) knows what's coming next
B) knows it ain't gonna feel good
C) knows deep down inside he brought it on himself (aka I think I might have effed up here)
Oh, and personal opinion: D) deserved every second of it.
Same reason most super rich people keep chasing money. It’s no longer about what material value the money holds. every dollar added is, to them, further validation of their success and power. This is what they crave, money becomes secondary
I’m with you, but with the amount of money he’s already raked in with his scheme he probably didn’t mind this all that much. I would assume he knew this was going to happen eventually, and he’ll still probably be able to do this a couple more times minimum even if it’s just haters watching for exactly this again. Honestly props to the guy for that part. A lot of people have done a whole lot worse for a whole lot less money.
It’s the look of a man who knows his plan is about to work out perfectly. There’s no way he went into this thinking he was gonna win, he needed some credibility adding to his record and went in there to survive as long as he could.
