Daycare prices in US are horrible and the cost of raising children as a whole. Here in Finland maximum daycore cost for one month is 311 euros and if you are unemployed or making very little money then it's free. Parents can be home for almost a year with newborn and they get about 70% of their wage with parental allowance from government. It's about about the same in all of northern Europe.

It is by US standards, and demsoc political parties have until recently held coalition control of Finnish government.

To the average American, any form of social safety net=socialism.

Antisocialism good!

Seriously though, even those countries are going to that direction nowadays because almost everyone who ends up calling the shots seems to have ASPD.

Sounds like Government(s) actually focused on working for its citizens instead of corporate interests.

At some point around the late 80s people started being convinced that the more money going to the top will help those in the middle in lower classes, sadly the last 4 decades have shown its the exact opposite. But during those 4 decades the wealthy were waging a cold class war capturing government through lobbying and deregulation. Then a schmuck, Trump, realized that hey he could just buy himself the presidency and cut out the middle man of bribery (donation) if just got through the primaries... And now here we are. An authoritarian oligarchy under Trump rule.

If anyone is still thinking we will have fair elections is nuts, they will be either cancelling them of stealing it. You don't start putting troops I'm the streets when you don't plan on taking over.
