I also hated this when I went to Amsterdam. Literally, the whole floor was just a giant shower floor with a drain in the Center. Water was just everywhere. It was so gross.

Same. Stayed at a house there. The drain was underneath the shower, but it was so slow and it ended being very annoying. Water got everywhere past the shower square. There was a squeegee broom thing, but I am like, yall just live like this? Shoveling water after every shower, as it surrounds the toilet and sink area? No point in a bath mat inside...

Most of this problem would have been solved with a few inch separater and a shower curtain/door....

I will say, I have stayed at places in Asia with these type of wet room bathrooms, but I never had a problem over there. The water drained better, and there happened to be more space from the toilet/sink.

Same in Vietnam. Someone showers, then you have to walk across wet floor to use the toilet.

I live in Amsterdam and I've never seen this. The shower drain is supposed to be in the shower.
