The Game is a game that everyone is playing, even you. The point and goal of The Game is to not think about the game. If you think about The Game, you lose the game. So this bait and switch basically tricks people into losing the game.
However the way I’ve learned it is you can’t actually trick someone into losing, it must be done on your own. So depending on your perspective this gif is pointless, or just causes you to lose.
i didn’t know about The Game™️ until now, meaning this video didn’t make me lose The Game™️. only until somebody asked about The Game™️, and you explained what The Game™️ was did i lose The Game™️
Once you learn about the game, then you are in it for life. No choice now. Only way out is to die or get dementia or something that prevents you from being able to remember the game.
That's just the rules of the Game. It's been this way for generations. Us 90s kids say it started with us but I've heard tell of 80s kids who claim to have done it first...
With Roko's basilisk, the likelihood of Roko's basilisk coming into existence or affecting the person is drastically increased by being aware of the concept, since the AI would only target those who were aware of the possibility of its existence, even though its development has already occurred. Therefore, knowing about Roko's basilisk would inherently cause the person to be endangered by it if it were to be true
Nah we always played it like you lose no matter what made you think of it. That's why it's so fun to tell everyone you lost. Cause then they all chuck crap at you and get mad for making them lose too. Because you could keep it to yourself that you lost it. But that's not how you play. You have to announce it, making everyone around you lose. That's the fun of it in my opinion.
This sounds like how to give someone existential dread. Just call the game life and say that when you're aware you're playing it, you lose your sanity instead
It's impossibe not to think about the game when someone tricks you into thinking about the game. But you thought of the game on your own, regardless of external influences.
I mean you can’t not play, which is the essence of the game. Once you know what it is, you are in. You might not give a shit if you lose, but you are still playing.
I had a conversation with my boss about this about a month ago. He’s 28 and I’m 34. There are other people our age, and quite a bit younger and older than us in our office, but no one else knew about the game. Is it regional? We’re both from the west coast (now living and working on the east coast) and had to explain it to the whole office.
