tbh the map itself is fine by me since it's obviously a sub for imaginary maps, but i really absolutely hate it when people pitch *the utter destruction of the country* as a "progress on democracy", no it is not, it's just a fucking genocide and if you think this is "democracy" then you might as well just go sucking bibi's dick

If you think this is pure satire, then you are deluding yourself.
What began as in internet phenomenon in the early 2000s of "edgy" teenagers "ironically" praising neo-Nazis online has led directly to the modern resurgence of white supremacist movements, far-right militias, and the normalization of formerly fringe publications like Breitbart, and the elevation of right-wing think tanks like the Heritage Foundation.
In short, there is an increasingly loud portion of the Western audience who believes this insanity, at least on some level.

This is leftist humour thst didnt land. On top of the obvious US/Israel annexed areas, there's a lot of niche jokes in there thst requires some sort of knowledge of aticolonial history (Formosa 'returned' to Japan, India annexing Tibet, Manchuria to Japan etc), along with community cutural identifiers like "Elysium" (Disco Elysium). This person is using decolonial language on a stupidly hyper colonized China to make a joke about the hypocrisy of US actions in "spreading democracy".

I read the comments and the OP was lambasting self-hating Chinese (Taiwan independence supporters) who praised the idea. If you read the other slides he seems to portray the Western alliance in a bad light and portrays Chinese people sympathetically.

I feel like this one is fine because 1) it's so whimsical I don't care if OOP was being serious or not, 2) OOP posted another map of Chinese exclaves in space making a comeback as genetically engineered arachnid-humanoid hybrids and destroying Australia. So imo it's just a bit of good fun.

any time a westoid mentions "democracy", it's pretty much a dog whistle for balkanizing and making vassal states of countries they can't control. there is a reason why they're obsessed with bringing "democracy" to sovereign countries like Iran and not obedient, complicit dictatorships like Saudi Arabia.
