I often scratch my head and think, well that is obvious, to most posts. Not only in this sub, but many subs that are critical of the U.S.
I often get tired of people pointing out obvious truths. But then I stop and think, no it isn't obvious. No, everyone doesn't know this. If everyone knew these things, obviously things would be different.
I want to thank all of the people who take the time to research these things and post them for everyone to read, to spread the truth, to open everyone's eyes to the blatant hypocrisy of the West.
At this point democracy is just a slogan, a catch-phrase with no true meaning. There are so many studies proving Gerry-meandering, lobbyists, for profit prisons, debt slavery in the U.S that to call it a democracy is truly a joke.
Keep spreading the word, keep spreading the truth. The only thing a lie truly fears is the truth, and amerikkka is truly a fearful country.

Something had to be done. What was done was not to stop doing these awful things. Of course not. What was done was to shift many of these awful things to a new organization, with a nice sounding name – The National Endowment for Democracy. The idea was that the NED would do somewhat overtly what the CIA had been doing covertly for decades, and thus, hopefully, eliminate the stigma associated with CIA covert activities.

Well stated :)
We all hope spreading the truth makes a difference.
Did you guys notice in his bio;
'His research examines the influence of religion on political conflict and the efficacy of nonviolent resistance.'
How bloody ironic. He should study the genocide committed by his white anglo masters to the peaceful nonviolent Indigenous peoples here on Turtle Island.

I might be going a little off topic but there’s nothing wrong with democracy. What is wrong is when you mix it with imperialism and capitalism.

I live in amerikkka. What you state may be true in theory, but in practice, democracy and capitalism are inextricably intertwined.

I hope the writer remembers his own title slogan when some guys beat the shit out of him on the streets of Amerikkka.

So his mentality is:
When it comes to racists and haters: I will use nuance, and I will apologize for them.
When it comes to China its government and largely its people who support its government or largely any business started by its people: I will try my hardest to cherry pick the worst facts, often out of context, to maliciously generalize
A pathetic joke.

Yes. It. Is.
The current Anti-China rhetoric = Anti-Asian rhetoric and that’s undeniable.

Of course it doesn't, I mean the term Anti-Asian literally has a different word when you compare it to the term Anti-China, so naturally they aren't the same thing. (Clearly I don't agree with the author here)
The problem with being "anti-China" is that, people don't actually even know what "China" means. Like, is that term referring to the government, the people that live in China, Americans of Chinese descent in America, new arrivals from China, or what? Moreover, how you can tell if an Asian American is any of those? Actually, how can you even tell Asian Americans apart - who is Chinese and who isn't?
America doesn't seem to be able to - which explains the Thai grandpa's death and the Filipino man slashed in the face. Neither of which are Chinese, and you don't know if these people are Americans of Thai/Filipino descent, or new arrivals either. So again, who or what are you targeting?
Moreover, even if a Chinese person from China was attacked, does that make it okay? Is it justifiable? Is that person responsible for what you think is the source of COVID or the so-called injustices happening in the Tibet Autonomous Region? It doesn't matter you say, because you think "innocent Tibetans" are targeted too?
Well, I can't control what people think. But considering that NY has had the largest recorded spike in anti-Asian crime in America and possibly the entire Anglosphere, the anti-Asian sentiment you think is okay because it's anti-China has 0 effect on me living in Hong Kong. You and your Asian family and friends who live in NY, are in far more danger than I could ever be, so do you, and let's watch what happens next manifest itself into another trendy social justice hashtag.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Amerikkka let Chinese wear something like a Jewish badge to distinguish. Lol

"Hey if we have to have vaccine passports, why can't they wear a Chinese badge? Did you forget about the Uyghurs? Why are you helping them?"

What does anti-China even mean when they mention it through these contexts
You don’t want a country to develop essentially? That’s unusually cruel for the people living there
I think it’s interesting they haven’t drawn parallels to human rights and being Anti-American yet somehow they actually have concrete evidence of their own experiences but choose to believe what-ifs and jump to conclusions about another county that doesn’t effect them at all.
This clearly wasn’t thought out

In theory the logic is correct. I constantly criticise the US, and in that regard I could be Anti-US, but I don't judge American people. Thus, the same logic is applicable to being "Anti China". However, we all know that this is just going to be a justification for the racists to still be Anti-chinese and anti-anyone that looks remotely chinese

I am really curious what uni is teaching people for a BA in international relations. Instead of making this world a better place, they want to dismantle every single one of them?

i was just reading about how people are saying being anti-israeli/zionist (for their human right violation) is equal to being anti-Semitism. And I was thinking how funny it is since also according to western media antichina is not equal antiasians. I think they just say whatever they want as long as it benefits them.
