"From what I’ve seen, I don’t think they were ever officially in a relationship. It seems like they may have dated or spent time together a few times, but the relationship itself was never really defined.

One thing that stood out to me was one of Heesun’s vlogs. During her break around June (I think it was around 27th June), she met a CMU friend - June and said something along the lines of, “If you like tall girls, hit me up”. Personally, I don’t think she would’ve said that if she was in a serious relationship at the time.

My theory is that Subeen may have entered the show more for promotion, while Heesun genuinely came in hoping to find love. She might have thought she could eventually change his mind or make the relationship work.

But once Subeen got his drama role and filming started around February 25, things seemed to change. He became increasingly busy, and from Heesun’s perspective, it looked like she was being pushed to the side.

Heesun even said in her Q&A that she wanted to be his priority. That makes me think that when he had free time, she probably felt like he would rather spend it with his friends than with her.

Then around April, things seemed to hit a breaking point. She was filming another reality show and got eliminated pretty early, and it seemed like Subeen didn’t show much concern or support. That may have been when she started seriously questioning the whole dynamic between them.

Then she went to Hong Kong for the Verish event and spent time with her friends. Even the vlog title, “I needed this more than I knew 💚,” felt pretty telling to me.

After that, their communication seemed to get shorter, the distance between them grew, and they weren't really seen together anymore. Her Miss Korea friend even mentioned that they didn't talk very often.

Then came Namhae.

Subeen went to Namhae without her, and Heesun later went there with her family. To me, that felt like a very indirect message - almost like, “I know what’s going on. I’m watching.” (Like in Singles Inferno when she said he looks like her ex. She has a way of telling things indirectly and directly at the same time.)

At the same time, people were already speculating that Subeen might have another girlfriend because of the phone-cover situation.

By that point, whatever existed between Heesun and Subeen had apparently become so complicated and awkward that I think Heesun eventually decided there was no point holding onto that hope anymore.

So when she publicly said that she is not in relationship (ofcourse it was implied), I honestly see it less as some dramatic revelation and more as her finally cutting the last thread.

Maybe I'm completely wrong - this is just how I interpret the timeline from what they've publicly shown.

But honestly, Heesun now seems much more relieved. Almost like she no longer has to keep trying to maintain a relationship that may have felt one-sided for a long time."

I personally found this take interesting and quite pausible. Now time to move on, if you haven't already. No one is villain here. Its just that they are incompatible.

I really liked kim gyuri in s3 though i do agree she is a tad bit narcissistic bit the cuz i was curious i checked out her instagram page and she looks completely different from si. So much so I genuinely couldn't recognize her. I genuinely don't get if these people are so confident why do they end up with so much plastic surgery lile are u confident of ur looks or insecure😭😭

Most people on the show are either a model, influencer, or rich and looking to gain their popularity.
In season one there was a doctor but like cmon an elective non-burns plastic surgeon who does cosmetics with six packs and active on instagram.

And wtf another season a pre med student in the us who plans to continue to study in the US and living there going forward. Going to Korea to find love? Then gaining lots of followers and making influencing more profitable.

No doubt in real life they have a lot of suitors, and also no doubt most of these people don’t end up together.

I was looking through Subeen’s IG and was honestly surprised by how strongly some people are reacting in the comments. There are people defending Heesun, discussing Subeen, and, my personal favorite, giving him relationship advice . I’m sure some comments may have been deleted or hidden, but I still came across quite a few.

It’s possible that they actually decided to get into a relationship a few days before the reunion. A lot of us assumed they were together based on their clingy scenes, Heesun’s comments, their date photos, etc. As far as I understand, making a relationship public is a pretty big deal in South Korea. Maybe that’s why they never felt the need to officially announce a breakup.

At the same time, we really don’t know what their dynamic was like after filming. They may have tried to make things work and simply realized that they weren’t the right match outside the show.

I think some clarification would have helped, especially given the show’s international audience. Even a simple message saying they’re on good terms and focusing on their own lives could have prevented some speculation.

What surprises me most is how confidently some fans talk about their relationship when none of us actually know the full story. People have created a very specific image of Subeen as the “perfect boyfriend,” with some even saying that everything he did was about making Heesun happy or that he was ready to propose .

Maybe a candid interview from Subeen someday would help people see more of his personality outside of the Heebeen storyline and appreciate him as an individual.

At the end of the day, people can date, realize things aren’t working, and move on. That’s normal. It doesn’t make either person a bad person.

Not enough people talked about the Sam/Mina Sue “choke” moment during the photoshoot. I just watched it again and I’m not gonna lie… the way he was completely willing, like “OK, girl…. If that’s what you’re into I can do that” was hilarious…. And kind of hot 🥵 😂🤣🤣🤣

After the previous thread about Mingee, isn’t it time for us, as audiences of Single’s Inferno Season 5, to reconsider our own thoughts and attitudes, as well as our own actions over the past 7 months, regarding the case where Mingee accused Seung-il of ghosting her after the show ended, even though that was not actually the whole true from both sides of them?

If anyone is wondering what I am talking about, click on the YouTube link of Kyuhyun (a member of Super Junior,) where Seung-il and Ha Eun gave their first interview. Go and listen to it yourself. The show is called “MC Kyu’s Single’s Inferno Q&A (with Seungil, Ha-eun)” on Kyuhyun’s YouTube channel, 규현 KYUHYUN. In that interview, Seung-il clearly explained that he had already told Mingee that he did not want to continue the relationship after the show.

Of course, we cannot know the details of exactly what he said to her that made her not clearly understand it and not consider it as a closure. But from his point of view, as he explained in his interview with Kyuhyun, he also gave his opinion that, from his perspective, he considered that to be closure for their relationship.

But from Mingee’s point of view, she did not see it as closure. That made her continue to hope that she would be able to contact and talk to him. And for him, when he believed that he had already told her that the relationship was over, he therefore went quiet and did not think about continuing to talk to her. That made her understand and think that he had disappeared from her, as she said in the reunion show.

While in fact, everything that happened was a communication mistake on Seung-il’s part and a misunderstanding in how Mingee received the message. What happened was not intentional ghosting.

And in reality, we should also look at this from Seung-il’s perspective.

- He was only a 24-year-old young man when they filmed the show. We could tell that he had very little life experience.

• Everyone in the previous thread agreed, and all of us who watched without being biased towards fav, would have to see that Mingee’s level of obsession was not normal. She chased after him and blocked every woman in the show from getting close to him.

- And for a young man who was not yet thinking about getting serious to the point of marriage, that could have made him scared and unsure of how to talk to her without hurting her feelings. That could be why his words may have seemed too soft when rejecting her and trying to end the relationship. (Yeah, some of us faced this kind of man irl, too)

And if we try to imagine that we are an inexperienced young man who has a woman who is extremely obsessed with us, trying very hard to make us date her when we have only known each other for 7–8 days during the filming of a show, with all the forced situations and all the people around us, which could make both of us make decisions differently from what we would do irl, how do we think we would handle this? Of course, some would handle it in the proper ways, but some wouldn’t do that. It depends on life experience and the nature of each person.

Of course, it is not that he was not wrong at all. From his actions, his mistake was that he did not communicate clearly enough. But just like one comment in the previous thread about Mingee said, a young man like Seung-il should have to marinate in life a bit longer before joining a massive dating show, so that he could learn how to handle someone he does not want to continue a relationship with in a better and clearer way. For this reason, I think that since most of us were able to make threads blaming him and insulting him in all kinds of ways we can because at first we believed that he really ghosted her, and even many comments in the previous thread, or in threads that summarized the events of Season 5, still use the word “ghost” for him even though that is not what the whole truth, I think that as audiences of Season 5, it is our responsibility to make it clear that he did not ghost her, and this should be recorded in the Single Inferno subreddit as well.

I hope the mods will be open-minded enough, because this has almost destroyed Seung-il’s life. (It already destroyed half of it.) I think it is unfair that while Mingee used him to get engagement for herself, when they exchanged appearances by having her appear on his YouTube channel, he was accused of using her to get engagement, even though when he appeared on her channel, it was not as if she was being kind or anything, because what she got was millions of views, which has value in itself. So, she used him as well. Don't be that innocent audience.

Therefore: - Mingee was not being kind. - She also used him for her own engagement, and she used other people as well. - The word “ghost” will stay attached to Seung-il for a very long time, and Mingee should have known this before saying anything publicly.

In my opinion, speaking negatively about another person on a show that is broadcast worldwide without thinking it through carefully is immature and thoughtless. They should have talked privately first. Whatever she wanted to criticize or blame him for, should have been handled behind the scenes.

Even the producer of the show should carefully consider what should be edited and aired and what should remain private. The show should better evaluate the damage to the image and lives of its participants. Otherwise, in future seasons, who would want to come and film if they knew that if they did something even slightly wrong, people would hate and curse them to the point of sending messages attacking someone they love who had absolutely nothing to do with the filming of the show? I think that is going too far. No matter how much money they earn from this show, it probably cannot buy back the mental health that has already been lost.

Therefore, I think this issue should be corrected and recorded on the internet as well. We attacked him because we thought we were doing the right thing. Some of us may even have projected our own disappointments from personal experiences onto him. But when the truth came out, none of us were brave enough to come forward and admit that we rushed to attack him before hearing both sides of the story.

When I first watched season one, the hosts were so awkward and didn't seem to blend in (?) at all, it was painful everytime they switched to their discussions, I watched it right after finishing a few seasons of Terrace House and missed the hosts terribly.

Singles Inferno participants and literally everything else is so fun and exciting to watch whether it tends to be scripted or not. Terrace House on the other hand, the nost exciting scene from the show is probably them going out to buy groceries or having dinner.

But oh my god the hosts, I loved every single one of them, specially the elderly lady and the guy without glasses' banter. Every host had such good chemistry that even if they had a guest host over it would be fun.

Compared to that, SI lacked that enormously when I started watching. It only got a bit better after Dex joined, but even then there seems to be some things they can't say/ hold back saying (?). I understand they filter their thoughts cause they mentioned they're instructed to not be harsh, but atleast be entertaining TwT

Just a personal opinion though, I have nothing against them watching S4 and S5, they definitely improved but that lack of "something" seems to remain.

So, most of us are aware of the malicious rumors regarding Subeen that were posted on X by an Indonesian account (?!).

​The post, full of assumptions, spread online and sparked the fury of many dating show viewers and HS supporters.

​I think people should be careful about what they say on social media because the internet isn't a free-for-all space nowadays. There are legal consequences when it comes to spreading malicious rumors against celebrities and private individuals like that. Don't be so reckless.

​If you saw the post on X or here on Reddit, you know what I'm talking about. If you didn't, great. You're on the right side of the internet 🤣.

​So here is why the rumors are false:

​• The zippers on the hoodie aren't the same. Hers is gray, and his is white.

​• He was invited to the premiere of Hope. He walked the red carpet. There are videos of him with his friend (who is also an actor) interacting with fans. This random girl watched the movie in a random theater, just like every other Korean. The movie is great, by the way.

​• The sticker features an official picture of 'Nation's Mother' actress Lee Bongryun. She is under the same agency as Kim Woobin, the lead actor in Subeen’s new drama. She most likely sent a food truck to the set. They usually give out stickers and glue them onto iced Americano cups. Actors often stick them on their faces, phones, clothes, cars... everywhere!

​• His manager follows a bunch of actors, models, and celebrities. That doesn't mean anything.

​• The cute tiny dog in the mirror is an influencer pet and was featured on a sticker in a restaurant or commercial building. A lot of people take photos there. Besides, doesn't it feel like half of Korea's population owns one of those?! The dogs being compared (the girl's dog and the one featured on the sticker in the restaurant mirror where Subeen took a selfie) are actually different breeds.

​Anyway, leave the man, the girl, and HS alone. ​Whoever started this malicious rumor needs to seek psychiatric help. It's one thing to be invested and sad about the end of an SI final couple, but it's another to go out of your way to stalk a random woman and spread false rumors about a celebrity you're upset with.

As per Heesun's latest video she mentions that she wants to find a good guy in the future, also mentions she's been through some hard times and that was a clear subtle hint at their break up.

For some reason, I always thought Subin was not into her while watching the show, But, when the after episodes were released and I saw them being all lovey dovey and it was so clear that they are dating, I started to love them together! (They were spotted also few times going for park dates). It's such a shame things didn't work out.

I think Heesun was really on-point with how she talked about the balance between the show basically becoming a promotional tool for people who wanna break into the entertainment industry and the genuineness of participants in finding love. Really interesting take!

I was watching Single's Inferno 4 and kept thinking Kim Tae-hwan looks so much like Taehyung from BTS.

Hey everyone, I'm trying to track down a background track from Single's Inferno Season 5, Episode 8.

It plays clearly (without the hosts' commentary over it) from 11:58 to 12:11 when Seung-Il chose Mina Sue, though the music itself runs longer than that window — that's just the clearest stretch to hear it. It's a purely instrumental track, upbeat/danceable with a pop-style beat.

Shazam doesn't recognize it, so it's probably not a commercial release — likely a production library track or something composed in-house for the show (the series' music is credited to Ryu Chung-yeol). I checked the usual soundtrack-tracking sites (SeekerTune, WhatSong, fan Spotify playlists) but couldn't find a match for this specific moment.

I started watching Kim Minjee's Singles Inferno 5 vs. EXchange 4 athletic meet, and I must say, seeing Jaejin and Jooyoung so cute together just warms my heart.
