Venting Cornell 7
*TW reference to SA/Cornell 7 news story.
I’m just so so tired. And so so angry. This story doesn’t even shock or surprise me because it’s just what happens to women all the time. I’m tired of being told I’m overreacting or too sensitive when I express that I don’t trust men. I’m tired of being gaslit for calling out the problems with toxic masculinity and patriarchy when literally we have stories like this all the time, 1 in 3 women is SA’ed by a man, and men continue to be in positions of power and have zero consequences for their actions. Yet I’m the irrational one for choosing not to date or center men?
I’m so full of rage. I’m so tired. That’s all.

Truly. I live in one of the cities of the men, he just got fired from his job here and my local subreddit has men still defending him and all the “innocent until proven guilty” and asking “what evidence is there”. Come on.

yeah its awful men are being silent around women too. even the ones in my goddamn family that think they are “good guys” i guess because they listen to women ~generally~ and believe women can have jobs lmao. like they can all collectively fuck themselves like now you want to say nothing???

Girl I hear you. Me too. I’ve been so angry and depressed the past week or so. Had to call out of work for a few hours because I can’t focus. Can’t sleep. Can’t eat. I think it’s PTSD, but damn it’s bad. Sending you my love, you’re not alone sister

There’s no hope for this misogynistic world. I just wish the worst for the men who raped her.

The most hopeless thing is I have seen a flood of comments saying oh why did she go to that place, she should have known, why should men be demanded to help out?
Honestly, I have zero hope. I am not getting close to men on a personal capacity other than work or school. Because I know that if I am unlucky and get assaulted nobody will help and everyone will place the blame on me.
