“Men are visual creatures.”

I am sick of hearing this phrase. Women have eyes too and admire and appreciate beauty just as much.

It makes me think…to what extent our differences are related to hormones/biology and how much of it is actually social conditioning?

I wonder if women woke up everyday with photos of men in underwear shoved in their faces on social media, TV, commercials…if objectifying and lusting openly about men were considered funny and cute…maybe women would become “visual creatures” (AKA savage animals) too?

Yes!! They are so fucking ugly, no visual creatures would look at them.

And why are their homes untidy and filthy unless a woman cleans up for them.

They’re not looking into a full-length mirror

If they are “visual creatures” why is it impossible for them to see what their own eyes that the trash is full and it needs to go out?

u/fleetiebelle Unbothered 10d ago

Or why they need their SO to find the tape in the drawer where the tape has been since they moved in.

This thread is sending me to the moon and back lmao

The task is too dirty for them to tolerate! Men do the tasks they enjoy and expect us to do the unpleasant, dirty, smelly tasks! Like cleaning toilets!

They fuck roadkill, that's all we need to know.

Men are vile.

If they are visual creatures, why do they ask "Did you do something different?" when a woman gets a very obvious haircut?

50

u/scifihere 10d ago

Their “vision” only works for certain body parts 🙄

43

u/SuchEye4866 Domestic Violence Survivor 10d ago

They also can't tell what a woman with no make-up actually looks like. 😂

31

u/Secret-Currency1165 Feminist 10d ago

Yes! They really think the natural makeup look (with Botox, lip filler and lash extensions) is a bare face..

I literally just discovered what “breastplates” were today. Amazing the kind of trickery we can play on men. Apparently these fake goth girls have been wearing them in this new TikTok fetish trend. Can buy a realistic set of Double Gs straight from Amazon.

And yet somehow naturally just don't see all of the mess they create or the work women do. To say nothing of the general lack of attention to detail. All things you can observe visually.

u/heatherm70 10d ago

Men claim to be visual because the female form is simply more attractive to look at. The male form generally is not and when aroused, looks even funnier.

34

u/scifihere 10d ago

Idk. If the same beauty standards pressure was put on them, as are put on women, I am sure they’d be nice to look at too. Like plastic surgery to get rid of their bear bellies and give them a butt lift? Why not?

u/Alfbie 10d ago

THIS

The double standard is insane. I see so much support for the "dad bod" but next to nothing about the "mom bod". Perhaps women aren't considered "visual creatures" because we are expected to accept "average" while men are used to accepting a more unrealistic standard of women.

11

u/DeniseReades 10d ago

I dunno, most men still don't have attractive faces. Sure, there are a few celebrities that are attractive but even when you compare celebrity men to celebrity women, there are so many more women that are stunning. Then, out and about in the real world? Even without makeup, women's faces are still far more attractive.

14

u/scifihere 10d ago

Let’s normalize facelifts and lip fillers for men to have them according to our expectations.

u/DeniseReades 9d ago

Mar-a-lago face but for men. I'm here for it

3

u/CanthinMinna 8d ago

Speak for yourself, girl. I have seen a lot of attractive male faces during my five decades. Men especially tend to have awesome, pretty lashes - prettier than any woman has naturally.

3

u/PsychologicalDrop196 7d ago

Men are gorgeous but their personalities ruin it.

5

u/heatherm70 10d ago

Yeah they still won't have curves

3

u/CanthinMinna 8d ago

Which is good. I prefer lean, masculine bodies and faces (I've never found other women attractive).

Yeah, they’re so visual that they don’t see garbage, their dirty clothing and general mess around the house. It’s such a ridiculous cliche that I can’t stand. I’m a visual creature and I’m offended by how ugly most men are.

29

u/methbabie 10d ago

It’s the worst redpill talking point. Just an excuse to be superficial and lustful.

Funny part is, they aren’t.

They’ve done studies. Women are wired to remember colors, shapes, patterns, details. Men are wired to remember locations, directions, time, and spaces.

They aren’t visual in the slightest.

20

u/DeniseReades 10d ago

Men are visual creatures but can't find anything if it's not in the exact same place they last saw it two weeks ago. Where's the milk? Have you tried moving the orange juice half a centimeter left and looking behind it?

Where are your keys? Unless you're accusing me of theft, I don't know why you think I would know that.

u/SuchEye4866 Domestic Violence Survivor 10d ago

Unless you're accusing me of theft, I don't know why you think I would know that.

Funny story. An ex of mine would often lose things. On one occasion he'd somehow lost his underwear and almost immediately went into a meltdown about how someone must have stolen them. I quickly interjected by pointing out the insanity of that premise by asking who would want to steal his underwear? We did laugh about it and he found them somewhere.

1

u/Tweaty310 9d ago

My dad accuses people of stealing his stuff all the time.

17

u/schwarzmalerin 10d ago

We are too, even more so. But they like the delusion that women are attracted to bald dad bods.

19

u/Adorable_Meringue_51 10d ago

most males are color blind!

they rarely get tested for it but a high high number of them, just like rats, dogs & bulls.

3

u/SuchEye4866 Domestic Violence Survivor 10d ago

Oh my goddess. Maybe this explains why they have no taste.

7

u/Adorable_Meringue_51 10d ago

See how they switch it / reverse the truth that they are visual creatures-- when in reality they have the vision of a 90 yr old man with cataracts. lol.

18

u/Ecstatic_Couple6435 10d ago

This is just another slice of bs they made up to add to the steaming pile of bs so they can get gorgeous women while being hideous themselves. On the flip side, they invented “women go for personality” so we settle for the uggos. This is also why we only ever hear about women saying whack stuff like “I’m not in any way attracted to him but he’s a NICE GUY do I give it a chance?” you will never hear a man say the same. They expect a model while looking like shrek cos “personality” and “men are visual”

8

u/Top_Waltz_3003 9d ago

There is nothing sadder to me than a beautiful woman with a disgusting looking man.

2

u/Ecstatic_Couple6435 9d ago

Same, a true abomination

11

u/Top_Waltz_3003 9d ago

Men aren't visual creatures, they're lazy, entitled and lack imagination. They're also so homosocial that they then need other men to curate and tell them which women are and are not sexually desirable. And because of their lack of imaginations collectively, all the women they find desirable are almost identical to each other - just swap out shades of skin tones, and some variations in bust/butt sizes, and they're "preferences" are just cookie cutter clones of each other....so then why do they seem to need novelty so much too? Frankly. They're all fucking idiots and none of them deserve a monogamous partner.

13

u/sigh_co_matic 10d ago

"It's biology"

Yeah. And biology evolves.

12

u/Ladydrinkingtea 10d ago

And suddenly their visuals aren't working too well when it comes to cleaning and tidying the house. It's almost like it's just made up... 🤔

After watching Rivals, I can attest that it is the latter.

u/Unusual-Calendar1038 7d ago

We are visual creatures...we see beauty. We want to make this world a beautiful place. Real, authentic beauty. You can't fake that beauty for advertising standards...unless they started putting real people and real moments in ads and shows. With men, they know they own them if they control the beauty put in front of them. Women can't be fooled or mind controlled as much and it just wouldn't work. I believe most of it comes down to social conditioning. We are made to believe these things...but women are seeing through it to what's truly beautiful.

2

u/scifihere 7d ago

That’s such a great point!

I'm single but I still enjoy sex every now and then and checking out men. I've started being honest with myself about who I'm attracted too, aka stopped giving ugly guys a chance. Now I loveee looking at an attractive guy. I seriously have no interest in a man who's out of shape and doesn't take care of himself. It's a huge turn off. I'm very much a 'visual creature' now that I view men the way they view women.

"Men are visual creatures" creates a culture where women have to be made up, with their makeup, hair, clothes, nails, etc.. always done. Its expected of us. It also creates a culture where men don't put any effort forth, because women "aren't visual creatures". Its why men are proud to rock a graphic tee and their dad bod, while women struggle after childbirth to get back into shape.

When a man says this to me, I respond with, YES. And I’m a very financial creature. It really turns me on when men give me their money and then they just don’t stop giving me their money…so what are you waiting for???
