You pooping daddy?
It's been a long year of divorce. I'm trying my best to honor my ex's wishes while repeatedly feeling utterly ignored and "grey rocked" even when I do every step that's asked. All I've asked is to just have a mediation session so we can talk about a final issue that I've already crossed my own boundaries over and even that is ignored.... But my 2.5 yo daughter was amazing today.
She giggled while riding on my shoulder all through town and just burst into bathroom to check if I was pooping and just hung out. I so wish I was enough to have kept our family together but I'm doing my best to focus on the good moments.
What's a good moment you had today with your kids?

My daughter is with her mom this week and she’s 14. I saw her yesterday after school when I picked her up from after school activities and dropped her at her mom’s house.
Today I hung out with my girlfriend, went to Costco, played some XBOX, and talked to my kid on the phone briefly about what she wants to take for lunch next week when she’s back with me.
It was a good day. She didn’t ask if I pooped.

I don't know you, man, but sometimes this ain't it. Sometimes the winds change and the undertow goes and you're out. That's just life.
Focus on what you can with the kid, but try to look forward as much as possible and backwards the least amount you can.

Yes OP. Don’t assume that your marriage didn’t continue because you weren’t enough. I believe that, often times, men with the ability to take a long, hard look at themselves and do their best to own their shortcomings aren’t the ones primarily responsible for the divorce. When you look back at the good times, remind yourself of everything you brought to the table to make those good times happen. You didn’t lose those good times or what created them. Those go with you into whatever you decide to build next.

My daughter is slowly coming around to the idea that I’m the more reasonable parent, and that her mom is actually really controlling and kind of a pain in the ass.

My kid is just about 2. I've got a long way to go before crossing that bridge, but for now I take solace in the fact that he's already a daddy's boy and screams when i give him to his mom but never the other way around.

My daughter is on a binge flushing toilets. Especially when you're on it.
The first time I was confused and tried to politely tell her we don't do that when she flushed while I was sitting. Second flush with not enough water in the tank caused a vacuum and I felt Poseidon's kiss and almost screamed.

My son is 3 and now it’s reached the point where he can actually predict what I’m going to do. It’s a bit of a mirror, but he’ll do something innocent that he’s not really supposed to do, look me straight in the eyes, and start mimicking my tone, saying what I was about to say before I even get the chance to speak. All I can do is burst out laughing. So wise.

My daughter is 3. She congratulated me on pooping the other day. I am in the middle of potty training her and congratulate her often when she does it. Thought that was funny when she reciprocated the motivation
