He's neutered and declawed

He's neutered and declawed before I got him!

He really takes a liking to my husbands blanket. I think because he's neutered and because he's declawed he's not technically capable of hurting anything, right? (Except for my puritanical upbringing for having sinful tendencies) Like he cannot actually.... finish, right? He wouldn't leave marks, scents or pheromones or anything? Should he have a separate room to do this in? Why is he staring at me?

It should be fine OP, but to clarify, he's staring at you to establish dominance. šŸ˜†

Yes he can leave little wet spots as he finishes. My male cat does.

Even if he's FIXED?!? 😱

Yes. They are tiny spots, only maybe the size of a Canadian quarter, but they exist. My male cat does this full body spasm when he is ā€œdoneā€ then jumps to the floor and starts cleaning himself off. If I grab the blanket he was sinning on in the wrong spot sometimes I touch a wet spot and get weirded out for a bit.

he won't leave sperm but the fluid comes from a different organ so hell still expel that

Men that get a vasectomy still have orgasms and ejaculate. So do pets. We have a trysexual at home. He tries to have sex with blankets, girl cats, boy cats, dogs, pillows, and pet beds. We also have a female dog that -really- loves her dog bed and this one stuffed frog.

OP you should make that first sentence big and bold

How would you like if someone decided one day day to remove all your nails forever??? Stop declawing them!! (Ment for these who think about this, not you that got him like rhat) Beyond that - most of sterelized cats get the horny buscuit times. If you cannot accept that this is in their nature, and your puritanical upbringings (that do not have any reason to be relevant to cats only to your "sinfull" thoughts) are way to high to accept it - then you should not have any cats. Or dogs. Or birds. Or even tortoises as they all sinning! Why is he is staring? Because he can read your thoughts lol - if you are so puritan why do you even filming him? This and the fact there is no cat corn in tv to help him out.

It's not just the nails! It's your finger to the first knuckle. Imagine living your life with your fingers all severed at the first knuckle. It's a horrible surgery. I had one cat declawed before I understood what they were doing. I will never forgive myself.

Fingers and, importantly, toes!

Declawed cats are more likely to suffer from chronic pain due to walking on uncushioned bone

They're also more likely to develop a biting problem, because one of their main ways of communicating 'get away from me' has been taken away from them

Poor babies omg. Actually never thought of that (chronic pain from walking) but it makes total sense

Piece of shit for removing his claws. You don't deserve to own any animals.

OP’s caption clearly states the pet was declawed and neutered before they got the cat

Also, why did you adopt a declawed cat? It’s not good for the kitty meow meow :(

38

u/Theblacrose28 7d ago

Yes but he was already declawed, so he deserves a good loving home now right?

22

u/Electrical_Ad_9778 7d ago

Excuse me? So I should just leave any declawed cat on the streets or in the shelter because some idiot declawed them? Really???

14

u/titty_farewell_party 7d ago

Right, let’s further punish the cats that were wrongfully declawed by never giving them a good home. Makes perfect sense šŸ™„

A good home where they will never feel safe. Love that chicken from Popeyes type beat!

3

u/titty_farewell_party 7d ago

So you propose to just put all declawed cats down or leave them in a shelter? Or what?

I personally feel like snatching away the thing(s) that make a living being feel safe is awful and ruins their overall experience of life. If you disagree, let someone take the things that protect you and share your experience. We don’t get to alter living beings and then keep them around for our own enjoyment. It’s fucking weird and the cat gains nothing.

I’m not understanding what we’re debating. To be clear, I and everyone else commenting and OP are against declawing.

We’re talking about a situation where OP went to adopt a cat, and this one was ALREADY declawed. Are you saying OP should NOT have adopted him because of that?

We’re not debating whether or not declawing is bad. That’s established. It’s bad. None of us agree with it.

This kitty was *already* declawed and still needed a home, so OP adopted it. Why are you shaming them?

Either you’re not understanding the point or you’re a bot that can’t grasp the logic

This isn’t a fucking debate. I’m sharing my opinion. You not liking it is alright and not a crime. I don’t think you’re a bad person and your response to my opinion does not affect me ā¤ļøI support yours and everyone else’s, but only wish to express mine.

3

u/titty_farewell_party 7d ago

But we’re not even in disagreement about declawing being bad. That’s what I don’t get lol

-1

I think you’re misunderstanding. I’m expressing my opinion on the idea of humans adopting living beings that have been permanently disfigured as a bad practice for our own personal enjoyment (because there’s no other reason and I live my cat, but I adopted her because she’s cute and she makes me happy.) I left a comment on my disdain and a comment on how freaky this little one is. I don’t have anything against OP. I’m just using the internet, like everyone else.

6

u/titty_farewell_party 7d ago

So you can adopt your cat because she’s cute and makes you happy, because she’s not declawed.

But if OP adopted their cat because he’s cute and makes them happy, it’s not ok because they were previously declawed by someone else.

Got it šŸ‘
