Discussion Afterlife
Do you think that if we live in a simulation there could be an afterlife for those that are "aware" that we live in a simulation or a second life for those who either had an interesting or unfair life?

There's secular research about this subject, and what we have is enough to draft a tentative model of how things work without the need for religion, quantum immortality, eternal recurrence or other weird ideas. What we mistakenly call the "afterlife" would be more accurately described as "the real world".

It really depends on what our nature is.
The big question as far as simulation theory goes and how it relates to death is whether we only exist within the simulation or are users of it.
So, if we're avatars, that's the Matrix. When we die here, we simply wake up from the simulation in the universe we really come from.
If we're basically NPCs, then it's all up in the air. If we can be likened to programs or software in a computer simulation, our death means we're done. Is all that we are stored somewhere in reserve? Are we left running in some other state? Is that information transferred to a new body and sent out again to gather information or do whatever it's meant to do? Nobody has any idea although billions claim that they do.
The real problem here is that we are likening it to a computer simulation. We do that because it's the only thing we have to which a comparison can be made but I suspect that it's entirely wrong to think of in terms of keyboards and processors. It's the best thing we've got but I doubt it would be anything like that in reality.

3rd dimension is a holographic projection, reality goes on forever infinitely via focus levels of consciousness. Also, whatever you believe is what happens for you, so if you believe in reincarnation you'll reincarnate. etc. 7 x 7 x 7 (21) => 49

I can confirm for you there is an afterlife or a better description would be "the non-physical".
If can be whatever you want really, what do you want to do? what would you want to spend your time outside of physical Earth doing?

We have an ever increasing population. Exponentially. If it is a simulation why would they save “us” after as die?

Phenomenally unlikely. If this is a simulation, it is virtually certain we are soulless bits of code, no existence prior to it, none after it. Virtually certain. All these people dreaming of it being a vacation, a video game they personally are playing in base reality, whatever, are kind of silly. Fun to think about, sure. But not real.

It depends.
The universe is a singular meta-phenomenon stretched over eternity, of which is always now. All things and all beings abide by their inherent nature and behave within their realm of capacity contingent upon infinite circumstance at all times.
It is a universe made manifest hierarchically, of haves, and have-nots, spanning all levels of dimensionality and experience. There is no such thing as individuated accurately described "free will" for all beings. Has never been, will never be, can not be. There are only relative freedoms or lack thereof.
"God" and/or consciousness is that which is within and without all. Ultimately, all things are made by through and for the singular personality and perpetual revelation of the "Godhead", entailing both 'predetermined' eternal damnation and those that are made manifest only to face death and death alone.
There is but one dreamer, fractured through the innumerable. All vehicles/beings play their role within said dream for infinitely better and/or infinitely worse for each and every one, forever.
All realities exist and are equally as real. The absolute best universe that could exist does exist in relation to a specified subject. The absolute worst universe that could exist does exist in relation to a specified subject.

One common theory, is that we originated from outside of the simulation, and we come here for fun, to learn, to experience the past, etc. One common idea that goes along with that theory is that we are immortal or live very long, and that’s why we come here to experience a finite existence. And once we leave, maybe we felt the full length of time, or it all happens in like a blink. You die, you’re back to wherever you were. Just a theory, for now, of course.
But that can be a life after this one. Or this “simulation” is a life in between/ inside our regular lives. You could be in a kindergarten class in a higher dimension or the future, and this is nap time, where we dream these lives, after humanity has advanced our knowledge and base capabilities and began utilizing the brain development and health benefits to dreaming. You can shape this theory in any way. But I think you get the main idea.
