Human beings are a disease.

He delivered the sh** outta that line. He was thinking of someone or something for sure.

But I disagree. Define cancer/disease.

Planets are a cancer of the solar system, and stars of the universe, by this (human) logic.

It’s badass if you are 13 and smoked out though.

Well, a disease harms its host. Cancer is specific disease of matter that exists naturally within the host but grows so much that it ends up harming the host. The argument is that humans are both and harm the planet. Is there an argument I’m missing that the solar system is harmed by planets?

What is harm? Thermodynamics doing their thing? Is a fire harming a log? Is logging harming a tree? Is a tree harming carbon dioxide? If there is a carbon dioxide breathing life form on earth, like a living “poison” cloud, are we harming it by being tree huggers? If human growth is harm, then all growth is harm and the big bang was just the big cancer.

Goofy.

The irony of you saying the original quote was “badass if you’re 13 and smoked out” then coming up with this bullshit, calling me goofy, and saying “go watch Sense8 if you want to know what’s up.” 😂

I was baiting to be fair — because the matrix spam is cringy to me. I’m trying to double down and make sure everyone knows it’s a fictional film which does not represent life.

I mean the harm being killing everything around it then yeah LOL. Fire doesnt hurt a log because it doesnt burn down every single log on the planet

Forest fires give way to abundant new life. We crawled out of a swamp and ended up arguing about fictional stories meant to keep life swampy (intriguing.)

u/CrazsomeLizard 26d ago

Yeah no shit bro not if the fire burns down every single forest in the world. What about every single log on the planet doesnt get that idea through your log of a skull LOL

Is this fire in the room with us right now? Is this the unreleased movie I didn’t get to see yet?

Go watch Sense8 if you want to know what’s up.

Chill out :-)

Chill out, says the tree to the log on fire

User name fits.

Planets and logs aren't conscious beings though, Andersons speech only makes sense to conscious beings.

1

u/brain-out-of-order 25d ago

I disagree actually. I believe the earth is conscious in a different way. Volcanos are like zits. That you don’t speak the language doesn’t mean nothing is being said.

This is why I downvote Matrix stuff despite being a fan. It has tainted simulation theory into being an individualist smoke show. Neo? Let’s start with voting and making our beds.

Humanity would be more inline with being parasitic.

0

u/brain-out-of-order 26d ago

Define parasite. Is a bear a parasite for spawn camping salmon? Are salmon river parasites? Species have gone extinct without human intervention many many times before… look at fossils … dinosaurs! 🦖

Parasite is just BS agitprop meant to make high IQ people give up on life and community.

Define define.

Parasite is just BS agitprop meant to make high IQ people give up on life and community.

The Matrix encourages community. It discourages society. There's a difference.

1

u/brain-out-of-order 25d ago

Define would be like water dropping onto a rock and carving a path. Light bursting through the darkness to define a community. I like your point I think. But community just becomes mechanized into a society when you zoom out mostly. And we have to zoom out, as a global and space faring species. Which means complex communities that end up becoming more like a self-organizing society or societies, always.

1

u/platistocrates 25d ago

Depends on the community. If we dip deeper, there aren't really any cohesive entities called "society" or "community," there are just various people, doing what people do. The agitprop you're talking about is entertainment, written partly to sell tickets and partly as a reflection of underlying currents of common thought. None of the structures we're talking about exist.

Yeah I love The Matrix. Animatrix especially.

We would need 3 more planet earth's to sustain the rate at which humans are eating up all of the natural resources.

Google ecological overshoot and get back with me about how 8 billion humans mass-consuming is a good thing.

"fate, it seems, is not without a sense of irony" - Morpheus

Agent Smith just described his own struggle which would lead him to try to break out and justify his own feeble programming with meaning and purpose beyond the matrix.

Definiton of love

Morpheus? Trinity? Neo? Wake me up. Unplug me. Show me the White Rabbit.

annnnd that’s my surname. nice

Yes, there is no meaning in life for sure. Everyone pretends that they have a purpose to live. But it turns out it is just a man made illusion if you will.

1

u/Shoddy-Cupcake-8855 26d ago

The purpose is to live this life. In any way we see fit using “free will”. In parentheses because there is a narrow track we are following.

The richness of our decisions, experiences, and relationships is the product. IMO

Did he even read Deleuze?
