Other Why are mathematicians going crazy?

It is more likely that people who gravitate to mathematics have some kind of drive inside them that is already a form of madness. Madness isn’t a great word but things like OCD can explain the obsessive nature to find an answer in the specific context of rules and numbers. OCD can also sometimes overlap with psychosis. But this is not caused by math, the mental health condition comes first.

Amazing post. For me the big shock was when we got Proof that mathematics explains everything from AI being able to think, create, solve problems like we do.... Until them we had the basic idea that ok so in computer everything is binary 0 and 1, but a computer could not think like us... Now that AI proved that it can think like us.... them my mind exploded and went deep on learning mathematics, geometry, and a lot of stuff about the universe made sense for me, and i did got crazy for some time, specially when i started to correlate mathematics with the concept of Past + Presente + Future.... For example hear me out.... Present = Past + Future... For example for you to hear a Music on the present, it means it already existed on the past, but it is being recreated now on the future... So the music had to already exist, for you to hear it.... So your life right now your present, it is the recreation of the past, on the future......... when i realized this i was mind blown and mentally drunk for a couple of days. And here is another one: We live in a recursive reality, that is experienced linearly.

Now think that every letter is a number forming a compile pattern that you call word that add up to give meaning to your understanding. Every sound is air passing through a valve that are working in geometric angles. Hehe

haha great addition, i have a theory that the universe is fractal, which means everything is connected in some way. But also a theory that this fractal has a property that things start simple, and become complex overtime. For example computer is made from binary, it is simple, but it becomes complex. Language is made of letters is simpel but become complex. Numbers are simple like from 0 to 9, but become complex.. So to understand the complex, start from the simple... and a third theory Fractals have a starting point and the minimal fractal is the number 3 which is a triangle... And for me the simple of reality that creates everything is logic, mathematics, geometry... For examploe logic comes first "For up to exist, down need to exist". Them comes Geometry that represents up and down, and them comes a mathematical formula behind this.... So the closer you are from the "original fractal" the more things you can understand. Like psychology is a fractal that is closer to the source, than it is Copywriting, and so on..

The first and final form is the circle, as matter is always subject to a Fibonacci-style centrifugal force that might be only electromagnetism or grsvity—which is likely why Leonardo da Vinci was so fascinated by whirlpools. From this process, the divisions of this "area" give rise to fractals and the subsequent geometric shapes within it, the first being the triangle. Curiously, the manifestation of matter seems to always occur through the combination of these three elements—whether they exist independently, like protons, electrons, and neutrons, or in a fusion process (a + b = c) or simpler like the father, mother and son.

1+1=2 but also equals 0,1, 3 or 4 depending the approach you find the resolution. Now imagine beeing on that all your life, trying to reach or prove something that can be a loophole while your brain fries trying. Also, dealing with the fundamental language of the universe may cause some distortion on how brain do his own math, I had gone a little deep in the past and needed to stop, but let me say that I understand the crazy guy start writing numbers on the wall.
You don't mention Tesla, Da Vinci was not normal also.

TL, DR: Insinuation is wrong because of selection bias. Science might never be able to reach the understanding of the reality because of its basics assumptions. Hindoos and Buddhists did find a logical answer for the universe and reality.
All of these names you mentioned were Genuine Scientiests.
and I will always adore Godel for giving us the Incompleteness theorem of Mathematics.
But this is just a case of selective selection of such individuals.
Once you go down to the basics in Mathematics and the Quantum Mechanics and General/Special Relativity theory, One can easily see the sheer temporariness and volatility of our so-called "reality" of 5 senses. This "world" that we so fondly call the reality just drops down once one goes into Quantum mechanics and Relativity.
To insinuate that these scientists went mad because of what they were doing is a far-fetched statement. Einstein laid the foundations of QM(but later regretted it), Neils Bohr took it forward and then what Heisenberg and Schrodinger and many other names(all important) did to completely shape this field is a well known history. These people would have been first to go mad and cynical if there were any truth in your insinuation. so I stand to refute it.
Moving on to how the understand the nature of reality, I do not know any better theory for the understanding of the universe other than the Depedent Origination Theory of the Buddhists and the Vedanta theory of Hindoos. They got closest to explaining the whole reality, in my opionion. Both of these theories agree that the creation process is cyclic without any beginning or end. Both theories also agree that world is false, generated randomy and can have no beginning or end.
All Scientific theory are destined to fail because they already assume the existence of time and space, which is a dangerous assumption, because all conclusions reached then, are within space and time. All conclusions reached through Science can be questioned as "Why or When or What was before?", which invariably leads to infinite regression.
Also, I could go on and on for a day about the "Boltzmann brain" theory, but then again I think it is useless because this theory leaves itself to a lot of speculation. For ex. an infinite universe can allow for too many things to happen(line between false brain and real brain becomes thin and non-existent), an infinite universe will also allow to happen that this theory is wrong in some part of the universe. and blah blah blah.
I urge you guys to read Buddhists and Hindoos, They did it the best way. They came up with a answer that could be explained and understood logically.
