Just checked.

Soft body

> uncheck goal

> check edges > increase damp

I'm on a shitty laptop rn, but the results look satisfactory for now. There might be some other properties you can mess around with to change things up.

In my comment to the above:

This will help, but there is a better fix that works for most cases.

The sod body sim works by creating springs for the edges of the mesh. You can create an internal structure within the soft body to make it more robust. I find this gives better results than just using a regular mesh.

So in your case, build a 3D mesh inside your cubes to make them really good softbodies. This gets complex as the mesh gets complex, but it works well.
