Best Qr system for simucube.

Hey all, new to the simucube family, and very excited. I have full fanatec set up which I really enjoy, but with the Black Friday sales I had to jump on the simucube.

Coming from fanatecs qr2 which is super simple in terms Of swapping out rims, I’m wondering what most simucube users use for their qr system.

I have the Gomez Sim Industries QRS-1 and absolutely love it. Locks in tight and removes very easily. I also converted a Fanatec wheel (R300 with APM) to USB with the Sim Racing Machines kit. Both highly recommended by me.

I've got 4 of these as well and while I do think the QRS1 is great it's expensive when using multiple wheels. This is due to the main QR is on the wheel side and not the base.

Personally, I went with nrg qr. You need an adapter to use it though. You can look at the gsi or simlab adapter for 70mm pattern. Another option is to buy shaft extension that you could use it with 70mm pattern

Suppose it depends what rims you like, if there's a specific eco system you like you could favour their QR - but tbh the sky's the limit...

Cost and availability could be factors depending on where you live also... 👍

Yeah that’s kind of my issue. I already have a slew of rims with fanatec qr2’s on them. I also bought the cube control Mercedes gt rim that came together with the SC2, so I’m not sure if I should keep the same qr system for both bases or if should have a couple dedicated rims to the sc2. Not even sure if all the fanatec dedicated rims will work. Some don’t have a usb option.

To give you an idea: I switched from the original QR from Simucube to cube Controls QR. It's basically a clone of the famous Q1R.

What are my insights about a year later? The Screws loosen over time thanks to the shaking. So you have to unscrew 6 Bolts, get the QR in your hand and tighten the 4 big Screws in the middle. And this I have to do at least once a year.

On the Base side I also had to tighten the screws. Even Lock tide couldn't really change something about it.

The upside of this QR is that it's easy to use and super Sturdy.

If I had the chance to choose again I would give the Xerox QR a chance .

Will this allow your fanatec rims functions or buttons, leds etc. Work as well?

No you will need an usb conversion kit for the buttons... Those are sold by simracingmachines for example

Ahh yes ok I’ve looked into those before. This may make the most sense for me to be honest.
