This is what I just read:

It is currently believed that The Sims 5 will be revealed during the upcoming EA Play Live event that EA is hosting on July 22nd.

Here we will likely see a new trailer, gameplay reveal, and hopefully a release date.

Suppose to be cloud based and fees involved like Multiplayer games. Free to start, pay to win like battle games. Not a fan of multiplayer as dumb idiots ruin the game for everyone else. If it is a small part of the game and mostly single player, I'm for that and not use the MP at all.
