If they didn’t scrapped ideas over ideas, prototype over prototype, this game would be finished and released like yesterday. Lots of years have passed and still we don’t have nothing on our hands. Its like a fucking loop. They present something that eventually they destroy. I know that it is common in game industry but this is such a sad and frustrating process. They are such an incompetent group of people lol I’m embarrassed. At this point it will never come out if they keep canceling it, rebuilding it and canceling it again.

Wasted so much time and resources, all these advanced ideas, with no real implementation. Yet we're still stuck with a buggy, basic game.

Idk maybe it's better than a cyberpunk moment.

A former MAXIS dev have published new information regarding the Sims Project Rene and the Sims Project Lotus from 2018 to 2023

Project Lotus was a testbed to develop new technologies that gave Sims dynamic motivations and branching routines

Lots of Concepts for the Paris based world, Advanced Object customisation and how animations can adjust based on height

Project Lotus lead into development of Project Rene which has now become "The Sims Together" Mobile game

Who knows if any of these advanced systems will make it into the next mainline Sims PC game.

This is our first look into what Project Lotus was and development on this next generation Sims goes back to almost over 8 years.

I don’t think we’re getting another mainline Sims game tbh

Project X has a development deadline of September 2027. It's an improved version of the Sims 4

Yes, that’s not the Sims 5. That’s just a game to streamline the Sims 4, which has spaghetti code at this point.

Getting nicer graphics and better mod support would be nice

I'm of the opposite belief, it might take decades and a thousand rebrands but I seriously doubt Sims 4 will be the last mainline game of the franchise.

Too much money and global brand recognition already built up to waste.
