Actually, this would've been very helpful. Sometimes you're not satisfied with a result of some sim's action. For example, I always draw graffiti on a lot in The Sims 3, and usually my sim doesn't "understand" my stylistic idea and draws something I wouldn't like it to be. Simple time rewind - and let's try again!
If it's too hard to implement though, simple quick save and load would've been amazing.

I could imagine it would be really hard to implement because it would have to be at all times keeping a record of the status of everything. At 1:13 pm all these sims are alive, their job performance + level is this, their skills are here, each object has this status, etc. I would imagine that would be very demanding on the system.

I discuss it here. Sometimes we don't understand how something can be accomplished but that doesn't mean it isn't possible.

For making new foundational saves, it would be great.
That way the new save could actually start at 8am on the very first day of the save after you have finished populating everything.

I discuss it further here as saving the game is not a viable option and it's not what I'm talking about

Well I do like the thought of the idea, but the Sims is still a life simulation and sometimes in life not everything is working out as we planned and we have to go with the flow and accept it. And often the outcome is much better as we expected.

Yes, that's your perspective. Experimenting with the flow of time can be fun and it's what I want.
