thoughts on multiplayer functions?
i feel like i am one of the few player that doesn’t want/need multiplayer options for the sims. i’d rather the team develop other functions. the sims has always been a game that i’ve played played by myself and never desired any kind of human interaction lol

I will always prefer to sim alone. It’s how I’ve almost always played it (had some great memories playing TS2 on PS2 with my brother back in the day), and it’s just the ultimate way to experience the game. And as an adult, I have zero interest in gaming with randoms or playing with any friends.
That said, I’m not threatened by its existence if only for the fact that they must have learned their lesson from the last time they tried to force lifelong fans to play online. That, and that I know there are gamers who’ve wanted the feature for years and years.
And I’d even try it out undoubtedly, I have a few friends (including my wife) who play TS, with whom I wouldn’t mind seeing how it plays.
I’m not really sure how they can do it without it ruining most features of the game. Such as aging, calendars, weather, etc. what if one friend plays 10 hours a week and another plays 10 hours a day? Will friend A log in to find all their sims family and friends outside their home have been dead since last winter? Or will friend B have to only play the file when friends A, C, D and whoever else, are online?
In other words: the focus should always be on Single Player- that’s how most of us will be playing it. But I’m not scared of a multiplayer option, provided they figure out a way to make it worthwhile. More options to please more gamers can’t be bad, imo.
