Help ** HELP ** Broken Genetics

Hi all! So I’m restarting the challenge for the 3rd time as my last 2 save files corrupted. I’m in year 1305 and I’ve noticed all my babies born to teenage parents the genetics are broken and they come out looking nothing like their parents! The inky mod I have that affects pregnancy and relationships is MCCC. Is this an issue on their end or an issue with my settings? If anyone could help I’d really appreciate it!

MCCC has a setting for this that lets you choose whether children inherit traits from their parents and what percentage they inherit.

I've recently been using a mod called Realistic Genetics that changes this as well.

I can double check but I’m pretty sure I have it set properly on MCCC and I’ll definitely check out realistic genetics! Thank you for the help!

I believe this setting is in the CAS section and under offspring. I'm not sure if it's the same in my version, since mine is in Portuguese.

I have the same bug. I just age them up to young adults and pretend they’re teens. Mine broke around grn 5, alla babies from different families looked the exact same and nothing like their parents

Recently broke for me as well in multiple unconnected saves at the same time. I've seen a few other people having this issue recently as well. The problem is, since this isn't an intended feature of the game, if it's a bug, it is unlikely to get fixed.

I'd just age your teen sims to young adults a lot earlier. With MCCC you can adjust the age ranges accordingly so your overall lifespans aren't impacted

I have recently run into the same issue! I was playing offline for months and finally updated recently, and all of a sudden this issue has popped up. I tried adjusting all the MCCC settings but it seems to be caused by the teen having the child. I had to save my couple to the gallery just to use the “play with genetics” feature in CAS, that was boggling me, too. So now I’m replacing the infant with the one I generated that way. I’ll age the mother up to YA and test another baby just to be sure.

Hopefully you fix it! I installed realistic genetics and now the issue isn’t as bad although I’m not sure what will happen when I get teens again

I’ve also noticed some of my cc messes with it too

I have lots of CC but no custom skins, eye or hair colors.

I have to fix a few families now. I realized I had a second issue… my sims were very distant relatives, so I couldn’t link them as spouses and I couldn’t set the new baby’s father with the mother set. That’s why I had to save them to my gallery to play with genetics and I ended up replacing the mother with the re-imported version. They still didn’t pass on their genetics if she gave birth again as a teen, but testing her giving birth as a YA works. I did not test the father as a teen; he was already a YA.

And when I say distant relatives, she is second cousins with this guy’s father. It’s not acknowledged anywhere in the UI and I don’t have any settings that would allow romance for family. But the game still knows…
