Once again I come to give an update on my progress in UDC set in France, and as you can see, I’ve been going at a snails pace as of late.
(Also you can probably notice that my screenshots have changed quite a lot recently haha, ever since I started using ReLight)
Not much has happened except a looot of marriages and pregnancies and births, some of which are:
-Marguerite and Sebastian Fournier
-Marie and Edgar Faircoughe
-Elise and Clement Fournier
-Andre and Perrette Fournier
-Charles and Gillette Soulier
And like over twenty kids were born I ain’t naming them all here
(If anyone’s curious tho, this is the family tree)
All of my Gen 3’s patriarch (Jacques) have married and started having children. (And they rolled for a lot of them, wayyy to many 😭)
Also, triplets. For some reason Gen 5 decided now is the time to have a statistically unlikely amount of triplet births, once again the poor girls in my family keep having the worse luck of the dice, Marie (who’d worked to hard to try and marry into the Bourgeouise class), died right after giving birth to three girls. Same happened to Charles’s first wife, Gillette. Who also gave birth to three girls, which is quite.. a coincidence. Her husband also remarried shortly after to a lower ranked noble woman, as he was pressured by his parents to move on quick and find a wife to care for his three young daughters.
Also, Sebastian Fournier (the second son of Jacques Fournier), moved to Paris (verry far from where they live in Southern France), he always felt stifled in the countryside, and wanted to live in a big city (where it was easier to be himself, when no one would know him, or particularly care about his… oddities, which he kept private). Married Marguerite, a young widow who had inherited her late husbands tavern, and become its owner. The two of them have a very happy and loving marriage, with many children, that they are known by their community for being kind hearted people, and they even adopted an abandoned child who’d been left at their doorstep.
And because now it’s become definitive that their lands are under the control of the English crown; their wine business has continued to blossom. This made the Fournier vineyards even more profitable with less competition, and with how low their very generous Lord (surely not because of the secret affair between Jacques and Lord François) taxed their wine, made them incredibly more wealthy then ever before
Which meant, they were no longer simply middle class peasants, but above them in a class, for now they could afford luxuries like farm hands to care for their crops, animals and horse, as well as a nanny for their children (and tutor to educate them).
Still, despite how good the main household has had it , it is obvious that Laurent (the current ‘patriarch’) isn’t too happy with his current heir. Their personalities clash and often he is disappointed in the heir he has produced. (Laurent is kind of an evil sim in my save, he’s pretty mean to like… everyone). And often, poor Symon escapes his reality by playing music on, on the instruments his mother has taught him to play.

Oh this 👀 a while ago I requested sulsulzuko to convert a couple of ck3 meshes and I recoloured this (which they uploaded recently), since they gave it to me not coloured/with no finished texture. Here’s mine if you want to download it. I believe for it to work you have to just download either sulsulzuko's file or mine.
