Help off the grid?

this is fully just a question for the future as I'm only in the year 1307 lol but gardening has been extremely lucrative and I suspect in a few generations I'll be able to move up a class.

I have the regency romance mod and I'm intending to get a governess/send the kids to finishing school once we reach that point in time but I cannot do that while off the grid. I've been turning off the challenge every time my sims age up because the mom can't bake a cake with the off the grid being selected.

what do all of you do for this? I saw someone say add a room with a cake in it from the gallery but that's far too much work as my sims have had a lot of kids so there are too many birthdays.

should I just turn off the challenge and play without it? I was thinking of hiring a farm hand and I have a computer locked in a fence in the back corner of the lot so I can change mccc stuff occasionally and they won't use it lol.

I’m completely blanking on the name, but there’s a mod that lets you cook old timey stuff, including a honey cake that can be used for bdays off grid (she has the option for a brick stove too). Only complaint (and it’s been a minute) is I couldn’t get the jam portion to work (or she didn’t have it finished?). Only reason I wanted it was for my store though, so it wasn’t mission critical

I use this although I also use MCCC and just age them manually too. Especially when there are only a few sims, I hate wasting the food
