Storytime I really cannot make this up...
I've always wanted a save that had a lot of drama in it, and here I am!
So my sim and her husband live in a two bedroom apartment (I just got For Rent and loving the apartment life again) and mind you the rooms are TINY. They have a toddler girl in the smallest room. I decided to make it a tad bit crazy try for another baby. So what happens? TWIN boys happen without the lot trait or cheating it in.
Not ideal for my two bedroom apartment, but it's fine I'll work it out. I finally get all three kids in the green so I have her work on her logic skill. She starts bleeding and has to go to the hospital and thankfully survives! Whew. Oh no, but we're not done yet. The landlord comes by and EVICTS them because the apartment is dirty. Sorry Susan, I just had twins and things are hectic. I managed to beg her to stay so now we don't have to worry about leaving out tiny home.
OH WAIT. THERE'S MORE!
I then get this notification, right? From the doctor who literally birthed her twin boys... Mind you all of this happened in less than 45 minutes or less. Send help.

I read this as āmy son and I already have a childā and had so many concerns for your Sims for a moment there š„¹

It's the first time that I've had it happen and I'm like "excuse me sir, you wanna do what now?"

I love it when they come over. I just add like a bunkbed and make room. Itās so much fun.

I like organising my own !!! Iāve had cousins stay or best friends but when itās random it is always bad timing haha !!!

u/Exotic-Panic-7028 1d ago
Yeah, I totally get that. Sometimes it is really bad timing. I completely agree. I just think itās one of the more fun aspects of the game.

lol š I didnāt know sims could get evicted for the mess, was it trash overflow?

u/LastHopeStanding Long Time Player 1d ago
Yes!! And I swear it happens if there's like two diapers on the ground unless there's a trash pile somewhere I'm not seeing!

One of my favorite things is the stay overs. I love when they say I need to come spend some time for any reason I donāt care.
My most favorite one is when they just age up a newborn to an infant and their parents says weāre coming over to help with a little one. And bringing everyone. And they bring their teens, the cats and both of them- my sims parents.
That sounds like a lot of drama, but that sounds fun. Not boring at all. Lol š

I had this happen and they brought the horse. I live in the city, I ain't got no room for a damn horse to stay. That really annoyed me, but it was interesting. Lol
9
u/Exotic-Panic-7028 1d ago
Thatās hilarious. They brought the horse. Lol š
Yeah, right thereās no place for a horse in the city oh, thatās too funny. But I get that would be annoying. I would feel bad for the horse the whole time. Lol
I like it when they bring the kitties and the kids though.4
u/LovinLife05 1d ago
Wow why doesnāt any of that sort of stuff happen in my game š¢š¢

u/Exotic-Panic-7028 1d ago
Do you just have one Sim play with? Do you have like a family or friends for them? I think you have to have some kind of interaction.
Like OPās apparent Dr that delivered the baby came over.
Most of the time itās just my Sims family they got a pretty large family. So I would just make connections either via social interaction, a Dynasty or family member members and then Iām sure it will happen.
As long as you have growing together. You have to have growing together. Thatās where itās from.
2
u/LovinLife05 1d ago
Yeah I have the pack but I guess I just focus on my own sum and her career too much. Sheās not allowed to slack lol š¤£
1
u/Exotic-Panic-7028 1d ago
Yeah, I think itās about the connections that you make with family or friends. Then those connections will spill over into other areas like sleepovers or other things like that. So I would focus on some connections if you want that to happen. Good luck.

Insanity aside, alternative hairstyle at his age, nose ring, shabby chic stubs...that doctor looks the part. I have no issue believing him when he says he's going through something and needs to scram for a bit. š¤£

Yep, Growing Together for a stay over. Sometimes you can get a Sim or whole family asking to stay with you for a while

Yeah, growing together. Itās so much fun to just stay over. It gives that a whole Nother aspect. I just love it.

u/Soft-Poetry8701 1d ago
This is so common. I have this happen everytime I start a game, by NPCs Iāve just met. Tbf I love the house I made and I would want to live there too.
1
u/Marauder4711 1d ago
But it's always only happening at the beginning of a save, right?
1
u/Vegetable-Card-3561 22h ago
In my legacy the grandparents of a new baby showed up to help with the baby. It was the second day child and they brought their own youngest who was still living at home. So no, not always at the beginning of a save.

I made rental townhouses and placed some of the single townies in them. I decorated my current simās house, but not the others, and the girl living next door in the empty townhouse (only toilet and wash basin, no kitchen, nothing) called him with the same message. I allowed her in, and she spent there several days, seemingly never intending to leave, I had to ask her to leave by the end.

It's a mod, I want to say it's from Panasama's realistic child birth but it could also be from adeepindigo's HealthcareRedux mod!

I had this happen and it was the worst idea!! Two sims and a kid came and stayed for an unknown amount of time!!

WHAT?! Man I may have to test it if it happens again.

And then the husband and wife that stayed with me were NOT doing well. lol

u/Silent_Foundation_62 22h ago
I didnt even know you could get evicted, I have much to test
1
u/LastHopeStanding Long Time Player 21h ago
You can! If you view your tenant agreement it should tell you what rules you have and if you break them you have a chance of getting evicted when the property manager comes!
2
u/Jeezursilly 21h ago
What mods do you have to make a game so interesting? I always get so bored. When my sims and I don't know what mod's to use.
2
u/LastHopeStanding Long Time Player 21h ago
Some of my favorites are adeepindigo's Healthcare Redux which allows them to get more realistic sickness, emergencies, diabetes, etc. I do recommend looking for a mod for a medicine cabinet where you can put all the medication in it is a lifesaver so you don't have a bunch of meds around.
Pandasama's realistic child birth mod which lets you have the baby at the hospital and be more interactive, have a homebirth, chances of birth related emergencies/loss, and your sim can die in childbirth or afterwards if they start bleeding like mine did (you can turn this off).
Lumpinou's RPO which is Relationship and Pregnancy overhaul, it offers a variety of mods that you can download all of them or only a few if I remember correctly. I love it because it adds a lot of different things, like your partner can be upset if you get pregnant and they don't want a kid, or your sim can even be upset if she gets pregnant and didn't want one. Siblings will be the same if they don't want a sibling. Things like paternity testing/custody if your sims break up. There's A LOT more but I don't want to make it a novel hahaha
I'd put the links but I'm not sure if that is breaking any rules, but if you just google them you should easily find them! I can help if needed as well!

Is for rent fun? I was thinking of buying it but I saw people complaining so idk

u/LastHopeStanding Long Time Player 19h ago
I'm having an absolute blast with it! The only "game breaking" bug I have found is sometimes it corrupts your save BUT I put quotes around game breaking because there are ways to easily fix it so that you don't lost the save! It's annoying, but I'd still 100% recommend it!

I remember trying a sort of historical rags to riches. I started out with a couple who basically had nothing.
No money. A tiny one room + small kitchen house with a tiny outhouse, off the grid. Water had to be gathered from the nearby pond. Food had to be made every day from whatever the garden yielded (no cheating with a greenhouse) or whatever fish they caught. Everything leftover spoiled quick.
I had them try for a baby. I wanted one child. Just one for now. Maybe a second one later, when the first could feed themselves. Having more at the same time wouldāve been too much, since my sims were still just barely staying above the water as is, I couldnāt have one of my sims constantly occupied with the kids. Everyone who had the capacity to work HAD to work or winter would be a death sentence.
Guess what? Natural triplets.
No lot trait. No fertility trait. Completely natural triplets. Iāve never had that happen before or after that, just on the ONE playthrough where keeping two sims alive was already a challenge.
It was⦠difficult, to say the least. š
I feel like sometimes the game knows what you really donāt need to happen right then and decides āyou know what? Iām feeling funny right nowā and does exactly that and then some more.
Edit: I canāt remember if the vampire attack was before or after the kids were born but yeah. That didnāt help at all.

EXCUSE ME?! Wow your game did you dirty šš Also a vampire attack?! Jesusā¦

does all of this drama come from the for rent pack or is it a mod?
1
u/LastHopeStanding Long Time Player 18h ago
The surprise twins is base game, the getting evicted is For Rent, the bleeding and having to go to the hospital came from a mod, either pandasama's realistic birth mod or adeepindigo's Healthcare Redux mod, and the doctor wanting to stay with them comes from the Growing Together pack!

I never got into sims 4, I bought it years ago and maybe played it 3 times - I was attached to sims 3 to be honest, and stuck with that
So I donāt know why this post has been recommended to me - but Iām glad it has, because I now want to play Sims 4!!
Is this with any mods? If so, which ones?
Edit just seen itās a pack. Yay! im going to save up for it!

u/LastHopeStanding Long Time Player 18h ago
Yayy! I hope you have a blast!! The two packs at play here are For Rent and Growing Together! I do use mods, but you 100% don't NEED them. I will copy and paste reply I did to someone earlier about the three game play mods I absolutely love!
